Yes i had this problem and it seemed to happen more often if a disc was left in the tray i sent it for repair the y did see the problem but after 2 months failed to repair it so i had a refund apparently there was a guy on avforums that had the same problem also.

PS2 Plasma Probs

Hi can anyone give me some idea how to get my ps2 connected to plasma, ideally i could do with connecting it to the 15 pin rgb dsub pc link so that it is on a different input than the rest of my kit, but where woulde i get a cable like that ps2 one end 15 pin d sub the other.

I have a Philips dvdr 980 and a Pioneer DVRA04, i record onto dvd+rw and then transfer it to cheaper dvdr on my pc i started using Bulkpaq discs and for every good disc i had i would have two bad ones so i ditched them in favour of datasafe gen 3, 2 speed discs and theese seem a lot better but i still have the odd duff disc i have now bought some white top gen 4 two speed discs to try out at£9.50 for 10.

I also have sevral players in my house and this is where things can go wrong, where as my recorder can read all discs another player in my house may prefer bulkpaq and another Datasafe. I have not yet found one universal disc that will be accepted by all players in my house.

What we really need is for the price of the quality media such as verbatim to come down in price it is happening but very slowly.

While i will stand corrected on recording time is the 6hr dvdr mode compatible with other dvd players when done cos i know for a fact that the pioneer will only do 2hr`s if you need it to work in other dvd`s (video mode) the vr mode on pioneer dvdr is not compatible with other players as they say anything over 2 hr`s on a 4.7gb disc does not comply with the dvd standard, it make`s sense that this would apply to panasonic also, 6hr`s equals non compatible with other players also panasonic have admitted that videoplus on the dmr e20 does not work well at all.

You wont get a recorder that will record on +rw and ram that just is not going to happen and my opinion is that the Philips model`s are superb all recording modes used on philips models are two way compatible, unlike pioneer and panasonic where maximum recording time`s on a disc you would like to view on another player is 2Hr`s terrible, and picture quality on the philip`s models is great i record on to dvd+rw then transfer them to dvdr in my dvr ao4 in my pc although the cheap dvdr media is a bit hit and miss crikey bulqpaq should be banned, for a half decent dvdr disc you need to pay around £2 a disc and +r media is falling in price and with the advent of £400 recorder`s from philip`s this trend will continue Long live +rw the superior format.

Toshiba 220 Mp3

Does the tosh 220e have an onscreen menu for the playback of Mp3 or just a blank screen.

Decca 2110/Dansai 852 Quality

Just purchased a Decca 2110 as a second player, i didnt expect to much
but up on inserting a dvd well it is terrible i have bit`s of the picture dissapearing all over the place, and the picture also freezes.

This happens on every disc i put in to this machine have, i got a bad one
or are they all this bad, please be honest if they are all this poor i will just go get me money back rather than mess about trying a replacment.]

Cheers AL is picture quality ok and how is it on layer changes, knowing Phillips are bringing out the DVDR 980 sometime in march which supports DVDR discs as well as DVD RW+ i wonder whether i should wait it is also rumored to be cheaper.?

Cyberhome adm512 from richer & firmware flashing

Hi hoping some one could help me just purchased one from richer sounds,
and i would like to turn the macro off ,my current firmware just says update i have downloaded the firmware AR3A0080 which i think is right for multi reigon and macro disable.

Now all i need to know is how to burn the firmware ie:which software to use to burn, and any settings when burning and then how to flash the player all help gratefully received.

Cheers Clayts it seems i was being a bit daft, on a normal or at least normal in my opinion 2:35 1 you can zoom the bars out but it would seem
that i have just purchased my first non anomorphic disc and it is most annoying, im afraid i did not notice this at first and just presumed it would be anomorphic.

I am aware of all the points you make but i thought i might be overlooking something simple this is cras on a classic title like this not to get the full picture.

The Abyss R2

Just purchased Abyss R2, and i hope someone is going to put me right here all the copies i have seen say aspect ratio 2:35 1 but also say 4.3 on the back.
When i play the disc the black bars are that big that i can not zoom them out on my widescreen this is doing my nut is there any way i can completely get rid of the borders all help gratefully recieved.

I have an LG 3350 which does mp3,DVD,Audio Cd and now also Vcd on recordable media top notch player in my opinion and i have had a few players to many to list.

That said i also have a Phillips 710 and for sheer picture quality it is unsurpassed and as i say i have used lots of players never ever have i seen a single pixel on the Phillips first class.

The LG3350E sold at www.dabs.co.uk for£189 is an absolute steal great picture, great sound,built in 5.1 decder plays cdr and mp3 it really is superb and i am just one of many who think so.

i have had about 8 players most got sent back but i would not part with this little beauty,that said pioneer are good but ive had one and much prefer my LG.

The LG will display 14 characters for mp3 when burned correctly using nero 5 burn disc in iso level 2,mode 1 character set ASCII,theese options are under edit,properties,file options with theese options you will get 14 characters as i said a bit better than 8.

Yes they are good i was unlucky enough to have to return a player ,but they were really helpful gave me full options exchange for same exchange for different or money back what more could you ask.

As i said earlier i very much doubt this is a problem or fault with your set other than it will not accept Pal 60, if your player could convert NTSC to PAL 50 you would find your problem would be sorted, as i said i had exactly the same prob and had to get a player with a ntsc to pal converter built in.

I have this problem on my set when playing r1 discs in pal 60 mode if it is an r1 disc your playing it maybe a pal 60 issue on your set some tellys dont like it a lot.
