Nominate the best chippies where you live so we can have a sort of database of top chippies around the country!
I`ll start:
York: Petergate
Darlington: Duke Street (followed by Haughton Green)

All the best,

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

Walkers - East Ayton (scarborough)
Place at Filey with Fisherman outside - best view in the world if you eat them in the Crescent Gardens!

The Fish Supper House - Buller Road Exeter.

Family business (son can`t do the batter like his dad though (it would melt in the mouth)).

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

Companies that have p**sed me off so much that I will never use them again and I hope you dont either....
Alloy Bodies of Manchester - The Grand Daddy & Benchmark for shockingly poor customer service.
Capital Bank Leasing who are part of BOS & are f**ing useless & struggle to action the smallest request but are fantastically efficient at taking money out of my account
Orange Telecom
....more coming soon no doubt.....

Abbey Friar, Childwall, Liverpool.

Is the Sea Shell still there in Lisson Grove, London. Used to draw custom from miles around.

Wheres the chippy on Duke Street?? it was all estate agents and bars filled with students last time I was down there...dont remember a chippy anywhere there... unless you mean the one just off Duke Street near the shop on the crossroads?

Never been to Haughton Green either...

There used to be a few good ones near me but they have all closed down over the last few years (the last one being Popeyes/the roundabout which closed for what I thought was a refurb, and it reopened a few weeks later as a carphone warehouse LOL)

Cant say I go to the chippy much these days but if I do I go to the one near Franks factory flooring on McMullen Road, its not fantastic but its nearby
