I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

Elton John - Tiny Dancer... watched Almost Famous after the WTC attack.. and Cameron Crowe`s film really filled a void... so much so that we used it as our choon at the wedding...

I could add to this list all night... music has been such an important part of my life..

Without going on about it, the tune means so much to me.
Even more now than it did at the time of the show.
I always think of my Wee Pal Jamie, best pal ever, who we lost a couple of years ago.
If I ever feel low I play this track and have a guid wee greet for ma Wee Pal and feel a wee bit better afterwards.

Bali Hai - from "South Pacific". Haunting. And just about sums up my desires.
Stay Now - East 17 - was top of the chats whilst my partner lay dying. Forever is my plea.
Impossible Dream - from "Man of La Mancha" - a bold and triumphant song of one who is dedicated to trying to be good and true to thyself. Very complex.
If Your Not The One - Daniel Bedingfield - for me the best love song ever written and beautifully sung.
"You`ve Got To Be Taught - from "South Pacific" - a powerful song about how prejudice is taught.
