DSOTM signed by all 4 band members, probably worh £1000s if it is genuine

I asked the seller to disclose where and when signed as I know a bit about the Floyd`s movements and this was the reply

Hi,The sleeve was signed on 3 different occasions between 2 years and will be disclosed to the winning bidder only as we are unable to share this information with just anyone hope you can understand but wedo have all relevent information and can be requested if you are the wining bidder kind regards the guvnors

Now, call me suspicious but why not vouch the item beforehand?

Anthony Daniels was on the radio once talking about signed Star Wars things, his advice was "unless you`re see the celebrity sign it themsleves, don`t trust it" as he said he had seen lots of things signed by C3PO and R2D2, yet he said they have never done joint signings :(

Good advice - personally, I would never buy anything signed off eBay just because someone says it is "signed by them" - what proof do you have? (and this Floyd one sounds fishier than Fishy McFish from Fishville if you ask me!).

There are certain trusted companies that specialize in genuine autographs though (but they can be very expensive!)

I often laugh at the `certificates of authenticity` that are offered with signed stuff from ebay.

" I hereby promise the autograph is genuine, signed me "

Gee,that puts my mind at rest then. :D

LOL

My thoughts exactly guys.

But someone paid over £500 for this; I hope for their sake they haven`t been done. But as Rog and Dave have only just started talking again after 20 odd years, I have huge dubts.

I`d want to see a photo of said celeb and said item being signed and to keep the photo.

Seems strange that it`s all been signed in the same pen considering that they`ve hardly been active as a foursome over the years :/ .
Had to laugh once when a seller on Ebay was trying to sell a picture of Queen signed by all 4 members that was taken at the recording session in 1994 (Freddie had died 3 years earlier :o )

My mate has had quite a bit of stuff signed, race suits etc, he often gets someone to take a picture of the item and himself as its being signed.

There`s one guy keeps selling signed Spurs` players` photos.
Are they f*** signed photos.
He obviously goes down to the training ground and gets pieces of paper signed.
He then goes home and frames (using Asda price frames) the piece of paper, with a photo of the player concerned above it.
They look so awful it`s laughable.
Here`s an example;

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Fergie banned all the Man Utd players from signing autographs at their training base because people were getting young kids to go round all the players getting autographs and then punting them on ebay as above.
