I have recently purchased a Widescreen TV, I have noticed that the right side of the top border is about 3/4 of a centimetre larger then the left side.
Is this the dreaded Geometry bug, alot of Widescreen Tv`s suffer from?
or should I send it back for another?

yup. This tends to happen on 4:3 tv`s as well, if you use the 16:9 squish mode. My 14" portable Sony is about 3/4 of an inch over to the right - very irritating.
Unfortunately the TV guys insist on having pants geometry. All the screen size/tilt options should be available on a service remote, but they don`t include the menu access on standard ones...
Try to find a friendly engineer who`ll let you `learn` the codes with a learning remote - problem solved!
On a more serious note though, it`s about time manufacturers let us access geometry settings for ourselves. They`ve been on PC monitors now for ages, so there`s no reason not too. My Tosh only has vertical/horizontal adjustments available as standard, but how I long for tilt and pincushion!

My Philips WS tv has all the same screen options as a PC monitor.. Sorry to gloat,, still got a s*** DVD though

any idea if other phillips TV`s or TV`s in general have these options? I`m not getting another TV until I can tweak it to perfection!

I serious doubt philips allow all the major service tweak`s available to the consumer as standard, as some of these tweaks can seriously F! your TV up.

The Panasonics let you sort out the geometry without going into any secret service menus.
My TK32DK1`s picture was slightly off when I first switched it on, but a couple of quick button presses and hey presto job`s done.
Bloody good telly too.

I ahve a Philips widescreen I bought about 4 years ago - a 28w9631PC. I am delighted with it. The comments here about geometry being crap on widescreens is a real surpise to me - I`ve never experienced any such problems. When people see the picture on my TV for the first time, they generally say something along the lines of "Blimey - thats a good picture!" - I of course don`t really realise hos good it is as I`ve now gott used to it.
Tho Philips have released a couple of other models since I bought mine, it is still an excellent tv.
I`d buy another Philips if I needed to replace mine. It was fairly expensive when I bought it so maybe their cheaper ones are not so good?
