Under-used actors, who would you mention?
I watched Army of Darkness again today and wondered "Whatever happened to Bruce Campbell?". Bizarrely enough, just an hour later I got my answer. While flicking through Sky`s channels I happened across Ellen`s sitcom and would you believe it, there was old Brucie playing her boss!. Odd though this was, it was nice to see him in a different (more normal) setting and made me wonder what would have happened if he`d got a break in the mid-90`s? Maybe he could have filled Arnie`s (now rather old!) shoes. Anyway, which actors do you think got a rough deal and could maybe have been much bigger stars if they`d been given the chance. I mentioned Campbell, but can think of several others I`d like to see get some recognition.

...hhmmmm...Bruce is currently in Sam Raimi`s Spider-Man.......
and i agree with you...he should be bigger then he is!.....
I always liked Michael Ironside
....and...em....hmmm..em....DONJOHNSON!......stop laughing!

Chrstopher Walken.
He`s been in some great films but I can`t help thinking he could have been legendary.

The brilliant Fred Ward is always very watchable yet only pops up every now and again (see The Right Stuff, Tremors, Henry and June).
Jeremy Piven should be a star (see Grosse Point Blank, Rush Hour 2).
Treat Williams deserved an Oscar for Deep Rising (see also Things To Do In Denver When You`re Dead)
Bruce Campbell - any `actor` who can laugh at and cringe at their own performance in a movie is all right in my book (listen to Bruce squirming his way through the commentary for Evil Dead 2)
I`d like to use Cameron Diaz ...
:p
or she could use me. I`m easy.

Would have to say Christopher Eccleston - think he is a wonderful actor, wouldn`t say he was under-used but perhaps not recognised enough.
Also Ray Liotta - after out acting DeNiro and Pesci he should have gone on to greatness but made some bad film decisions after that and lost his momentum.
Great to see him in Blow though making a great comeback.
Also dare I say Mark Hamill?
RE: Under-used actors, who would you mention?
No, you dare not. Mark Hamill is underused for a reason. He should stick to erotica and poor scifi. :D
Tom Sizemore has lots of supporting roles but need more employment as a main actor. He`s tip-toppity.
RE: Under-used actors, who would you mention?
Did you know that Mark Hamill was the voice for the Joker in the Warner Animated Batman/Batman & Robin series?
(Thought not).

Some interesting actors in these lists! Really though, you shouldn`t smirk at any of these guys (okay, maybe Don Johnson?!) because you never know how they would have coped in a big-money blockbusting picture. Stallone/Arnie/Van Damme etc aren`t great actors, they just got really lucky in terms of timing and backing. It just pains me to think how great Sixth Day could have been with Bruce Campbell in the lead-role, delivering lines like "Try to STAY dead this time" with the correct amount of wit and purpose. There are so many what-could-have-been scenarios for loads of films and it`s a crying shame that so few of the actors mentioned above ever got a crack at super-stardom. Obviously we can all laugh in the face of Mr Johnson (sorry Don!), but what if he`d been given a big comeback role in a major film (like Travolta/Pulp Fiction). We`ll never know!.

Jason Patrick, what a star he could be.
