On This Day....
Got one of those.. interesting facts desk calendars... I thought I`d share todays fact...
"The first steam-powered railroad train left Liverpool on Sept 15th 1830.... Also on that day was the first train accident!!!... A man standing too close to the tracks was hit by the train and killed....."
Interesting fact: today is the 14th September. :-D

He was talking to the Duke of Wellington in his carriage at the time, making his peace over an disagreement they had had some time earlier.
The guy next to me says it was William Hutchinson & he was a MP (his version of the story is that he was having a slash against a carriage).
Thats probably not the first train accident, just the first time someone of any importance\wealth was killed.

Just as well it wasn`t a leap year, then you really would have looked a chump.
