They could have built that chicane in around 40 minutes, it would have slowed the cars down on that problematic part of the track, and they might have had a race worth watching.
The spectators are throwing bottles onto the track, Personally i don`t blame em.

A chicane would only have complicated matters as none of the cars were set up for one and, as it would be placed at the quickest part of the circuit, it might have made racing even more dangerous. I blame Michelin for this complete farce and feel sorry for the paying public in the US.

last time there will be a formula 1 race in the USA, and michlen are likely to end their deal with F1. The teams have wanted to go back to single tyre supplier, looks like they will now :/

they wont get thier money back as the ticket would have stated that they were seeing an "F1 grand prix, part of the formula1 world championship" and that has taken place, no matter how p*ss poor a race it is.

The promoters have done their part, and all 10 teams have done their part.

The blame lays squarely with michelin and come then end of this year, I can`t see them staying in the sport which paves the way for the control tyre the FIA have requested in the new rules for the 2008 concorde agreement.

The FIA WILL charge Michelin with bringing the sport into disrepute, and will give them a whacking great fine. Michelin will see this as a kick in the face as if they didn`t advise the teams to pull out, we could have had drivers, and fans, killed.

Michelin did what they had to do, but they should have built the tyres to withstand the kind of loading generated by banked corners.

If formula 1 goes back to the States next year I will be very surprised.

The Michelin tyre proved faulty, it was only found out after a bad crash on Friday. Michelin said if a chicane was placed before the raised curve, the tyre would be safe. All teams apart from Ferrari agreed to this being done. As usual all ferrari were interested in was the points they could get if the other teams did not race. All they had to do was agree to the chicane and ALL TEAMS would have raced. This would not have been the first time a chicane had been added just before an F1 race.
