Edonkey2000, same type of thing as napster but much improved.

1) resume downloads when you get cut off
2) down load 1 file from multi users, giving you the best bandwith
for you connection
3) Not just MP3 files, alsorts of other stuff too.

Another tasty little utility is WinMX, you can download it at Http://www.Winmx.com

It can do all of the above. I like it, it`s pretty funky.

THE best is actually the Gnutella client BearShare for Windows users anyway. The gnutella network is way better than Napster even in its heyday, imho.

Bearshare isn`t bad apart from the SPYWARE built into it.

I found www.gnotella.com the best client after trying all the other windows alternatives.

And gnotella supports resumable downloads :-)

I tried Gnotella, but I found the searches returned far too many results. For example if you search for "John Williams Jaws" it lists results with just John in them.

I`ve been using Morpheous for a while now, pretty slow. Fastest it gets to is between 2kbps-3kbps whereas Napster when I started using it was usually 5 kbps. I used to get four songs an hour now I only get about two.

I have free Internet access with NTL could their service be crap now and thats why my comp goes slow.

By the way I only download singles not paying £4 for one song.
