RE: So, Now you got your X-Box 360, What do you honestly think of it ?

Sorry bravesoul for not replying earlier. I literally have to fiddle about with it until the light stays on. Sometimes takes ages and others can just take one a second.

Shouldnt be that way but hell its cheaper than buying a new modem!

RE: Call Of Duty 2 Patch (360) OUT NOW (FINALLY!)

I love the new patch too. I havent hardly played the single player game since. Just so much fun sniping people from Holland I just cant put my finger on it. :D

RE: So, Now you got your X-Box 360, What do you honestly think of it ?

Finally online. Gamertag is Clewsy1978. My ethernet cable wouldnt fit properly into my modem. I`m loving it.

RE: Ghost Recon 3 Has been Despatched XBOX360 !!!! YES!!!!!

I`m gonna pick this up at the weekend. Tesco are charging £40 a game at the minute.

RE: So, Now you got your X-Box 360, What do you honestly think of it ?

Just tried connecting to X Box Live but it says I`m disconnected even though I`m on the Net on my PC as I type this...Help!!! :/ :/ :/ :/

RE: So, Now you got your X-Box 360, What do you honestly think of it ?

Sorry Ogster. I live in Northampton which is a whiles a way. :)

Thanks for the offer though mate.

Good news at the NTL situation as well.

RE: So, Now you got your X-Box 360, What do you honestly think of it ?

I tried to get one this weekend. Just got paid my annual bonus and wanted splash a portion of it on the 360. I want Call Of Duty 2 and Condemned and the Premium Pack. But the only deals Game were doing were rubbish.

Is there really problems with NTL? I thought you could just plug the cable modem into the 360? I`m desperate to get one. Surely by now Microsoft would have worked out the demand for the console.

RE: How do you burn avi files to DVD disc so it will play in my home DVD player??

Hey guys. I made one disc encoding avi files to dvd files.

I got three episodes of Lost on there. I want to make a disc with S2 episodes on for a mate but dont know how many I could fit on a standard 4.7GB disc. How many do you reckon I could fit on there?

RE: How do you burn avi files to DVD disc so it will play in my home DVD player??

I have the same problem. I`ve just downloaded the last 3 episodes of Lost and the next 9 of S2 and want to put them on DVD. The only way I could was to encode the last 3 episodes using DVDSanta (took about 6 hours to do and burn!). Worked fine just a little time consuming. I havent bothered with the other 9 episodes though. I just watched them on the old PC.

There has to be an easier way?

RE: Your Top 10 of 2005...

This was for a US website originally so I went for mostly US release dates form 2005.

10. The 40 Year Old Virgin

A sweet movie. Steve Carrel elevates himself from supporting star to comedy leading man. What I liked about the movie was that it doesn't get too preachy or sickly sweet and at times I could relate to the male relationships in the movie. Not that I'm a 40 Year Old Virgin though…

9. King Kong

This movie took ages to get going but once I did it was pure popcorn entertainment all the way. The action just came thick and fast and Kong looked amazing. Take a bow Andy Serkis. Sure the CGI looked a little rushed but other than that, pound for pound this was probably the most entertaining movie of 2005.

8. Downfall (Untergang, Der)

This movie just seemed to slip under most peoples radars but luckily I caught this on DVD. Downfall tells the last hours of Adolf Hitler in Berlin. Bruno Ganz deserves the plaudits for an excellent performance, you almost (I said almost) have sympathy for the guy. Downfall also has awesome performances by all. Do yourselves a favour and pick this up.

7. The Constant Gardener

This film is going to sweep up at next years Oscars. I love "City Of God" and this film is another triumph for Fernando Meirelles. A lot slower in pace but its just so intelligent. Very moving in parts and Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz were amazing, especially Fiennes' haunted performance.

6. Batman Begins

Batman has fell off in recent years…thanks al lot Schumacher! But this movie was a welcome return to form. I'll admit never really been a Batman fan but I was always interested in how Bruce Wayne became the bat and thanks to an amazing cast and direction I could really get into this. I also dug the gloomy set design. "Does it come in black?"

5. Crash

Intelligent movie. A little preachy at times but great performances (especially Terrence Howard and Matt Dillon) and an impressive screenplay. I need to see the film again; maybe it should be higher up my list. This movie seemed a little preachy at times but the overall message was well meant though. Once again Don Cheadle excels himself.

4. Sin City

This movie has got a bit of slagging off recently from members of the PF Board but this film was just so f***ing cool. Mickey Rourke had the comeback of the century and we get Jessica Alba pole dancing! Also the movie was shot literally like the graphic novels. Just a cool as f*** movie.

3. Star Wars Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith

I'm sure I'll get a slating for this but this movie was just so damn entertaining to a Star Wars geek like me. It was dark (slain younglings anyone?), had a compelling storyline and had better acting than the previous two episodes. Sure the movie isn't perfect but for pure popcorn entertainment it was brilliant.

2. The Descent

This movie is one the best horror flicks to emerge from the UK ever. Six girls go on a caving trip in the Appalachian Mountains. Unbeknownst to them, there is something else lurking under the earth, a race of monstrous creatures hidden from the light, evolved to live perfectly in the dark. Balls to the wall film making.

1. A History Of Violence

Possibly David Cronenbourg's most mainstream movie but its also one of the best. Viggo Mortensen and Maria Bello are awesome and I loved the whole moral behind the story. This was just the best shot, best acted and best written movie of the year.

RE: My Broken I-Pod

Thanks guys.

I`ve managed to get it working again now. Managed to get it into data mode and reset the whole thing, currently putting all of my 5273 tunes back on the I-Pod...gonna take some time!

RE: Is there much life left in the Xbox?

I wouldnt mind picking up an XBox so I can play Halo 2, Doom 3 and Half Life 2. Never had one before...bit late I know!

My Broken I-Pod

Hey fellas...and ladies.

I`ve had my I-Pod since about March this year but its gone and f***ed itself up. All I`m getting is the Sad I-Pod Icon, followed instructions from the official site to set to data mode...that didnt work. Still shows the sad I-Pod icon.

What should I do? Send it back to Apple to fix or back to Argos where I bought it? The problem is I`ve mislaid my receipt...I have my B`Card statement though.

Any ideas on what to do? Has this happened to anyone else?

RE: NTL Cable Channels Freezing

They`re a nightmare arent they! I`ve already had my box replaced twice. I had to wait four days and that included the weekend! Put it this way I wasnt amused and they refunded one months broadband. A lot of DVDs were watched that weekend.

NTL Cable Channels Freezing

Hello all you good good people.

Just recently, the majority of my NTL Channels (all of the MTV Channels, BBC 1,2, ITV, C4, Paramount, Sky Sports Extra and loads of others) are skipping. The screen freezes for a couple seconds all the time.

Its very annoying. Last time I turned the box off I lost all of my service and had to wait about 90mins in the queue on the telephone. Dont fancy that again.

Anyone else had the same problems?

RE: How do I check out at CDWow?

Yeah its working now but get this...Lost S1 isnt even on there anymore. I could spit feathers right now!

RE: How do I check out at CDWow?

It wont let me sign in now either and there is no proceed to checkout option anywhere on the page. I`m gonna try it at work tomorrow. Plus Barclays employees get a discount! 8)

Maybe I have a problem with my browser? I use Firefox.

Thanks anyway mate.

How do I check out at CDWow?

I tried ordering "Lost S1" but I couldnt find the checkout button. Am I a retard? How do I check out!!!!

RE: Have CD Wow have any hidden charges??

I tried ordering "Lost S1" but I couldnt find the checkout button. Am I a retard? How do I check out!!!!

RE: MF Doom - any fans, any recommendations?

"Madvillainy" is excellent so is "Take Me To Your Leader" under the alias King Geedorah. As far as I`m concerned the man is a legend.

Also check out the De La joint "Rock Kokane Flow" featuring Doom. Its ace!

RE: The Warriors region 2

I`ll buy this but...

I heard that there are some comic book scenes added into certain sections.. :/

RE: Recommend me a multi-region DVD player available at the High Street

Not sure if I have a Columbia DVD. I`ve tried Garden State and Lost In Translation and they work fine.

Its not a great player but it does the job.

RE: Recommend me a multi-region DVD player available at the High Street

Well I bought a Phillips one for £39.99 and its now multi-region although I can still hear Sky Sports when I watch a DVD...scart lead not in properly probably?

Anyway thanks for all your help fellas!

Recommend me a multi-region DVD player available at the High Street

Ok so I know threads like this are probably a dime a dozen but I need help. I want a DVD player ASAP and went to Currys and Comet and looked at their numerous DVD players and hadnt a clue which ones were multi-region capable. I currently have a battered Wharfedale 750 which no longer plays audio CD`s and has never played my *whisper* burned DVD`s.

Help!!!

Soprano`s Season Four...where is the cheapest place you`ve found it?

Hi all

Does anybody know where the cheapest place to get this box set from? I think amazon.co.uk had it for £41.99.

I need this box set in my life!

RE: Gamecube. Is it really worth outlaying £99?

Resi is excellent. Its different to the original PSone version. The graphics are amazing. Its hard at times I`ll tell you that but that`s the fun right?

The sound is top notch...you`ll love it.

RE: Gamecube. Is it really worth outlaying £99?

Go for it. Last Feb I bought a GC just for Resident Evil and the then upcoming Resi 0...I love the series for about £160...so £99 sounds a bargain.

Plus the game of the year is on it...Metroid Prime!

RE: Computer On or Off?

I left my computer on recently all weekend. I was downloading Kill Bill (seen it six times at the cinema thought it would be cheaper to download til DVD) which took all weekend from about 9pm Friday to 11pm Sunday....but hey it was on a 128K modem!

I usually switch it off after I`ve finished. Its too damn noisy. I didnt sleep that well that weekend. I thought leaving your PC on permanently was a dangerous thing to do?
