DIY advice request concerning downstairs cloakroom project.
Quite keen on DIY and want to add w/c and basin in downstairs utility room in new house.
The utility room is approx 8` x 8` square and already has a soil pipe and water supplies in the corner. There are two doors at each end both in the middle of the end walls. I want to add w/c adjacent to soil pipe to make connection easier and add basin opposite on the same wall as w/c i.e. sit on bog look at basin straight in front of you.
Want to use the right hand side of room for cloakroom approx 900mm wide.
Unfortunately, have a drain cover in floor right in the middle overlapping the area I want to use, so will need to allow future access.
Thinking of using flexible hoses on sink with stop valves, etc so that could mount sink on a moveable base, i.e. tiles on plywood. Need to create walls, etc from plasterboard and wood studding. But want to be able to "slide" the section of the cloakroom out to allow access to the drain cover.
Looking for Ideas to do this. Thinking of either sliding complete assy (except w/c as this is not over drain cover) or revolving the sink area on a pole pivot point, etc. Anyone have any ideas what I am going on about? Can anyone make any constructive suggestions. Description not too good, but hopefully you get the gist. :D

I cant offer any help or advice, but I like your James Bond/Heath Robinson approach to the project ;)

RE: DIY advice request concerning downstairs cloakroom project.
Hello
Having probs trying to visualise.
Going clockwise around the room with side "A" at the top or 12 o`clock position, side "B" at the 3 o`clock and so on.
Where is the WC going to be? in corner of A/D, fixed to Wall A facing to wall C with the sink in the Corner of C/D fixed to wall D?
Which corner will the cloakroom be in?
The drain cover I take it will be 600mm longest dimension. Where is this in room? (900 mm from wall A, 250 mm from wall B with the longest dimension parallel to wall B, for example).
You say Cloakroom will be 900mm wide, you also mention creating wall with plaster board and studding. Are these walls to create the cloakroom?
Firm believer in putting stop valves on all taps.
Cannot work out why you need the basin to be moveable.
"There are two doors at each end both in the middle of the end walls", should I be reading this as four doors? unlikely but not impossible.
