Those water boiler things for the office...
anybody have one of those things in the office where there`s a constant supply of hot water for making tea, coffee, etc? Only started using one recently and I reckon they`re health hazards coz I feel ill after every cup of tea...

We have one and it`s fine. Only use if for my cup a soup.

If you feel ill it might be a build up of limescale inside it. At a place I worked at I refused to drink from it after I opened it up one day. Scary! :o

i work for a company who manafacture wall mounted water boilers i service repair them along with a load of other products. These boilers require a service and descale at least every 12 months and 3 or 6 months in hard water areas etc limescale which is caused by calcium carbonate deposits can give you a hellish bad tummy i recommend your workplace gets it service for sure same goes for bubble or fixed water coolers they need santising every 6 months its amazing how many water boilers i go to that have never been touched once installed also they are expensive to but £500+ scale can knackered em up for sure . ;)

Ours at work had a filter fitted after a few people thought it was the boiler, I think it is every 6 months we change it, or when the water comes out to slow :/

We used to have a teasmaid until I was giving it its regular descale and discovered the workings were growing green algae.
You can`t beat that old-fashioned water heating device called a kettle ;)

Is "teasmaid" a brand of machine, or simply the tea lady?

Nope, nobody else has complained that I know of - I was thinking though, I`m probably the only one who takes my tea black here so maybe the milk in everybody else`s is helping them somehow... they`re putting in a filter today so in the interests of science I shall volunteer to test it later on - will be back with the results...
