Does anyone have any good advice for avoiding razor burn and bumps? I`ve read that pure aloe vera juice works wonders for it. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks a lot for your help.
The best thing to do is avoid it in the first place by making sure your stubble is soft when you shave. If you`re not having a shower or bath first then soak your face in a hot flannel for a couple of minutes before applying foam/gel/oil. Also, make sure you shave from the bottom upwards on your neck and from the top downwards on your face.
I use King of Shaves moisturiser after shaving - replaces all the oils you strip off your skin when you shave.

shaving is a refined art.
1: upon waking leave at least an hour before shaving....pretty much impossible but that`s what is the requirement...
2: wash face with hot water and soap/ wash and soak with face cloth. This prepares the skin
3: rinse
4: using the oil/gel/cream of choice and preferably a Gillette mach 3/turbo SHAVE in the directionm of beard growth.
5: after shaving, apply an after shave BALM, like nivea for man or King of shaves Kinexium balm.

Is that right? I must admit I`ve never shaved from the bottom upwards on my neck. I always thought that you should shave from the top downwards. I`ll give that a try!
I wouldn`t shave against the grain on the neck if i were you, that`s exactly the sort of thing that causes skin irritation.
I know it`s been mentioned already, but nothings more effective than shaving in the shower, not exactly sure why but i think it opens all the pores.
How do you get a smooth shave if you don`t go against the grain?
I normally shave in the bath, and I do it both ways - in the direction of growth, leaving a sandpapery texture, then back against the grain for the required baby`s bum smoothness.
Have I been doing it wrong all these years? :/

Eeyuck, Mike! Don`t you need a shower afterwards to wash off all the bristles? ;)

Do not be alarmed. That strange sound is simply
my mind boggling.
