Firmware for Scan 2000

Reading other threads it seams the newer SC 2000 has a "disable Macrovision" option, I was wondering if anyone can get a firmware update to enable this on older Models.

Now don`t go quoting me on this, or ringing and annoying Scan about it either, but there should be a firmware update available soon for existing owners which adds this feature.

But PLEASE DON`T RING SCAN about this, watch our news pages as when they start distributing these we`ll let everyone know.

My SC-2000 Has two options under the CSS setting Auto & Off but in your review it says don`t disable this!? Is this still true?

CSS stands for Content Scrambling System. If you turn it off, the player can`t decode any encrypted DVDs, which is everything that isnt Region 0.

So yes, don`t disable it if you want to watch any DVDs heh.
