RE: Scratched DVD’s- anything I can do?

I have succesfully "wiped out scratches" by using "T-Cut" paint restore
or other similar mildly abrasive pastes or creams for metal eg my mums "Brasso". Using a very small amount and a very light polishing motion the scratched surface can be restored. The whole surface needs to be treated not just the scratch, as the thickness of the protective layer will become varied. Make sure all residue is cleaned from disc.

Try it , it does work.

RE: Hong Kong Legends DVDs

Being a Bruce fan, I just bought "Way of the Dragon" and "Fist of Fury", on the Legends label and they are totally uncut. The nunchaku scenes are all intact (incredible double nunchakus in one scene), and there are tons of extras on both discs.

ssshhhhh, SC-Firmware now with Macrovision option

Apart from fixing the problems with Scart RGB and the subtitles, the new Scan firmware now has the "Disable Macrovision" option. With my set up this is brilliant because before, the machine would always detect my VCR and spoil viewing through the Scart.

Firmware for Scan 2000

Reading other threads it seams the newer SC 2000 has a "disable Macrovision" option, I was wondering if anyone can get a firmware update to enable this on older Models.

RE: Does the Scan SC-2000 play SVCDS??

Yes the SC-2000 seems to play pretty much everything I have thrown in it, Kareoke discs, VCD (including bad quality boot sale ones), and SVCD. The SVCD are the ones I have burned myself, some containing slideshows and some using movie clips. Both types I have created with "nero burning rom", and also the SC-2000 does not seem at all fussy which brand of CDR used or which speed they are burned at (I use 12X).
