Hey there, firstly, i hope no one has been too badly affected by Splashdvd closing. I lost over £110 with them, i hope no one has had the same sort of loss.
Secondly, i`ve randomly created a DVD link website. To share my favourite shops with others. You can look at it at www.maxdvd.co.uk
I would appreciate feedback from my friends here on dvdreviewer, what do you think i should add? (Obviously not links to SplashDVD!)...
Feedback appreciated!
Thanks, Adam
how about adding a link to your favorite reviewer site :)
text is a bit large but otherwise a very good start.
Credo!
Actually, I`m with Haggis too, I`m afraid.
Anyone can create a one page web site full of affiliate-earning links. And technically, advertising your site when it has no substance aside from a way of earning cash for your good self (and a little bit of advice on Splash, which can be had on our Retailer Review Forum anyway) is against Forum Rules :/
Must try harder - see me....

Firstly, thanks for the constructive comments, and secondly, screw those who have nothing better to do than dig my work. I spent a lot of time and effort phoning various people/banks/agencies to get the advice put on my site for those who lost money as a result of splash going bust. And the email feedback i have had from those people has been encouraging and greatly appreciated.
The site is intended to share my favourite and reliable sites for friends and family, as it is a dvd based site, i asked people on here for comments. I didn`t plaster "advertising" all over the forum to attract visitors, the title is not an eyecatching one either. i asked for feedback, so don`t get the arse with me about that. Yes, i have some banners on my site that are part of an affiliate program, but how else do i pay the way for the site name? Where is the profit in listing all the information on the splash page? Where is the profit in giving personal reviews for websites?
So, i ask again, if anyone has friendly comments then i would appreciate info on how to improve the site, maybe wot pages to add...etc. I would be grateful.
Mate, if you put yoursefl out there and ask for feedback, dont get the arse on when someone is *shock* negative.
Those comments seemed to be friendly enough, especially Clayts, so if you are serious about upkeeping that website, you should probably listen to what people say.
And for my two pence worth, i think the site is difficult to read and looks like you knocked it up in 5 minutes using front page. Dont think im being nasty. Its my honest opinion.
Try knocking up some titles and gfx using photoshop or have a side bar, rather than one long scrolling page.
VROOM VROOM!!
RE: feedback appreciated!
To be fair you did ask for peoples views. And that`s what you got.
All the best,
The 42%er.
Your optimistic eyes seem like paradise to someone like me.
Hey
Haggis`s comments were friendly? constructive? Polite? hmmm. I thank you however for your feedback though, i agree the long scroll to the bottom of the page is a bit naff, maybe i should spread it over a few pages. And i think i`ll change the font as you said.
Agreed, front page isnt the best way of making a website, but as i said, its only meant for family, friends and collegues etc. So i probably wont rush out there and get a degree in web design!
Cheers for comments, i`ll get to work soon as! 8)
