Page 1 of GOOD SHOWS BEING CANCELLED!! (i`m sick of it!)

I was just wondering what people thought about this great show being dumped by WB

If you take a look at savingangel.com or.org you see that they`ve rasied a staggering $17,424.22! to help save the show which i think is good for trying to save a single show.

After Buffy being dumped then Futurama by Fox and friends finshing and now Angel I wonder what other good shows are gonna be next?

Scrubs, Malcom In The middle, The simpsons????

On the plus side Firefly is green light for a movie. :D

Did anyone enjoy American Gothic? I loved that series, but cancelled after the first season. :/

Also got into Now and Again, once more cancelled after the first season.

Whether a show is actually good or bad is irrelevant. The American networks are only interested in broadcasting programmes that pull in high ratings figures and lots of advertising revenue.

I`d hazard a guess that Futurama and Angel were cancelled because they simply weren`t popular enough with a general audience. Hard as it may be to accept, genre fans really don`t matter to the networks and advertisers.

Angel had its best ratings yet this season(on average)

So why should it be cancelled?

The WB wants to have another vampire show(dark shadows is it?) and thinks the two of them will wind up competing. So rather than give both shows a chance, they`ve decided to give the new show an oppurtunity. What odds it`ll be cancelled halfway through its season next year?

I`m pleased that Alias is one show that for some reason Americans love(what is it over 10 million viewers every week compared with Angels 4+ Million average so far this season). The chance of this getting canceled is remote. Whether it will stay good is another question entirely.

A 4+ Million average is pretty poor for a big-budget primetime programme on an American network. If Angel is being cancelled to make way for Dark Shadows, it`ll be because they hope/expect the new programme to achieve better figures. There`s no conspiracy, it`s just business.

I agree that they should allow room for new shows and ideas but the WB should have let a final season been comissioned so the writers can end the show the way they wanted to and not cancel the show by telling them half way through this season.

Angel is a good show and i believe that WB should listen to what the wants want and not decide themselves what they think the money should go into after all without the fans they would have NO MONEY

I still get the red mist when i think of Futurama being cancelled..........

One of the few programs that i wasnt sorry to see go, that everyone else seemed to get their knickers in a knot over, was Farscape. I just didnt buy into that.

And, as far as `Go on, give it another series`, is concerned, howabout `UltraViolet`. I thought that had loads of potential and really enjoyed the first series.

Anyone used to watch Family Guy? This animated comedy was just as funny as The Simpsons and was cancelled by Fox a few years ago. I`ve read recently that now they (FOX) have decided that they might bring it back because its made millions for them since in DVD and video sales! :)

You never know, Angel and Buffy might reurn in a few years time too. Especially if that total keeps going up
