Page 1 of broom, broom Cars. what people own?
General Forum
As we had such fun slagging off all the sad people who own modded pieces of dog droppings. I was curious as to what cars people own and have owned over there years of motoring? I have gone through a Opel Manta GTJ (import), Ford Escort RS Turbo & a Toyota Supra 3.0i . and da misses has a old rubbish (automatic) peugeot 205. the Supra is the absolute nuts! (when it works) its not the most reliable car ever, but when it works it goes like stink!
So what you guys own/owned then?
You say pyscho like its a bad thing

RE: broom, broom Cars. what people own?
Oh dear...
Cortina 1.6 L estate,
Granada 2.3
Chevette 2.3HS (Wow!!) bruised my spine a few times in this on anything bumpier than sheet glass.
RS 1600i (Still wince when I think how much I paid for insurance on that!)
Capri 2.0 l ("Sunburnt orange with a black vinyl roof" the height of taste & decency then!) & the thing broke down on the way back from Huddersfield after i`d bought it.
Capri 2.8 i (For 2 months & then sold as I thought I would kill myself if I kept it any longer!!)
Then the obligatory bike...
Yamaha TZR 125...derestricted naturally
Back to cars...
Fiesta XR2
Golf GTI
From here on in it`s company cars unfortunately...
Peugeot 305, then a 306 DTurbo (which was nice)
Citroen ZX Volcane (DTurbo again)
A bunch of 406`s

Aaaahhh, them were t` days...
Flyer...
RE: broom, broom Cars. what people own?
My Cars are boring
1998 - and `86 Nissan Sunny
2002 - Vauxhall Vectra 2.0td
2003 - Ford Mondeo Zetec S
(The last two because the father in law is friends with a garage owner and we get quite a good discount)
I wouldn`t get a Vectra again, pile of s*** that kept breaking down even though it was less than 2 years old when I sold it. I actually managed to make more back on it than what I owed, which was nice.
The Zetec S is a nice car, although it`s only a 4 door and not a hatchback which I would have prefered.
This space for sale
. <--- Except this bit, its mine.
RE: broom, broom Cars. what people own?
Datsun Sunny (W)... my first car, and its still on the road!!!
Datsun Cherry (W)... sold it to my brother for more than i paid for it, after a years use!
Citroen BX 16TRS (C)... most comfortable drive ever, like a flying carpet...
MG Metro Turbo (G)... too fast like driving a roller skate on speed... but eventually stolen!
Daewoo Nexia (P)... needed a reliable car, driving 25000 miles a year to work and back...(now the wifes).
Currently...
Renault Clio Sport... fast but rather uncomfortable on bumpy roads 8)

RE: broom, broom Cars. what people own?
Well...
started driving about 79 but as a poor student couldn`t afford (and still can`t) anything remotely recent so all my cars have always been old bangers.
starting from my very first, to most recent:
1970 red Austin 1100 (just like Basil`s!)
1966 blue Hillman Imp (with `fab` opening rear window)
1971 green Ford Cortina 1300L Mk3 (the coke bottle)
1973 blue Ford Cortina 1600GLX Mk3 (with vinyl roof!)
1973 red Ford Consul 2.0L (just like in the Sweeny)
1977 blue Ford Granada 2.0 Ghia Mk1 (looked just like the Consul)
1973 purple Ford Escort 1300E Mk1 (cool wheels - but a real rust-bucket)
1978 gold Chrysler Avenger (yuk)
1980 beige Ford Capri Mk3 (slow cos it was automatic)
1979 red Ford Cortina Mk4 Ghia Estate auto
1984 blue Vauxhall Nova (just a shopping car really)
1984 black Vauxhall Cavalier SRi (suprisingly fast, but another rust-bucket)
1990 silver Ford Sierra 2.0 Ghia (so boring)
1990 red Vauxhall Carlton automatic (no comment)
1990 black Ford Granada Ghia Mk3 (fully loaded with air con etc - but died and ended up at the scrap-yard just like all the others!)
Then I bought a sensible car, my current wheels a 1995 Citroen Synergie 7seat ppl carrier (with on board DVD for the kids in the back!)
Pete
