Latest Phone Menace

First we had the automated dialling systems that hang up on you when you answer the phone, if there is not annoying tw*t available in the call centre to try and sell you a new bathroom, and now the latest mennace has arrived....the recorded message! :/

Had my first experience last week when i got in from work to find the old answermachine flashing, only to dicover the message was trying to sell me a vacation in florida, and was just a recorded message that went on for about 10 minutes! Anyway, had a good laugh and deleted it. Today the phone rang and i answered it to hear (in a broad american accent) "Hi, how would like to experience disneyland....... " so i hang up, but it doen`t cut him off - he is still there when i pick the phone up! so i hang up again - the damn phone rings back, its still him.. damn you BT, get him off my phone line >:( >:(

Anyone else had a call from him yet?

Just one more reason to hate the mouse.
Words are insufficient to describe what I would like to do to these slime. >:(

Had them many a time.
BT have now put a block on them, and we`ve not had one since. Took about 72 hours to activate.

This sounds like a right pain in the a**e!
Haven`t had one (yet) ,but if it doesn`t cut off when you hang up,what happens if any emergency happens whilst these plonkers are tying up your phone line?? :/

Get yourself registered so that you don`t appear on any "cold calling" agency`s database, (the telephone equivalent of Mailing Preference Service). It takes a few months, but eventually these calls dry up. Can`t remember who I contacted, but perhaps do a search for Oftel or similar.

Is this the place Fitz Tps ?

Registered my details and it has stopped all the kitchen / double glazing / whatever calls although I did get one last week from a market research company and I asked her their address and telephone number and then explained I had registered with Tps and she apologised for disturbing me , said goodbye and put the phone down.

I guess so, although I can`t actually remember as it was a while ago and I registered by phone as it was before I really got into the Internet. I know it can take a while before all calls are stopped, as I used to do part time casual work for a "mailing house" who sent out mail on behalf of companies and the data bases these mailing houses hold would seem to be updated, (receipients details added or deleted) on an "as and when" basis.

i know its an old post now BUT... i have been away... ;) "hey clayts"...
I registered the other day and got a bloke phone up today asking for my wife , but in her maiden name . so i knew it was an annoying company for servays etc (the excuse they always use), because we have been married for over 3 years now.!!
I asked the bloke for the company name and phone number and he asked why. I told him we were registered to the TPS and he s*** a brick...lmao. He appologized a record number of times in the space of ten seconds and said we wouldnt have anymore calls from his company....
:D lmfao......

The best laugh ones now are the call centres from 3rd world countries, where you cant understand a word `wot their saying or for that matter selling`
