Can anyone recommend a good musical?
Thinking of Lion King, Fame etc, what is worth seeing? cheers
RE: Can anyone recommend a good musical?
On DVD or Live??
If its a live show you ae after, then `we will rock you` is good if you like rock music, if big band is more your scene, i reckon that the rat pack musical is one of the best at the moment (don`t confuse it with rat pack confidential, which is a different show)
As for DVD, can`t say i have any musicals....

On Dvd, "The King and I". Great sound, excellent picture, good songs and incredible, charismatic performances.

Sorry, yeah I mean theatre. I should learn to be more specific. Will look into the rat pack. Someone recommended Mama Mia to me, but not too sure about that.
cheers

If you want totally off the wall, left-field, off-its-head hilarity, try Jerry Springer The Opera.
It ain`t cheap and not for the easily offended (profanities all over the shop), but I thought it was great!!

There`s only one to see at the moment:
We Will Rock You
`nuff said
Cheers

I disagree
Blood Brothers (get your tickets at the half price ticket box in Leicester Sq.) has always been a favourite of mine and even afteer (anorak) 10 or so trips, I still love it and it still shocks and surprises me.
Also saw "Chicago" earlier this year and thought that was fab as well (stage production is far better than the movie).

An excellent one to try is Lion King - fantastic costume and staging - and songs you may know.
Also try Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - this really was a great musical - all the classic songs and great effects, Russ Abbot is excellent too!
Last Minute.com do some good meal deal and ticket things, so check them out too!

Thanks guys, will look out for specials on those!

Have to agree with Lion king and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Haven`t seen it myself but my sister really enjoyed Calamity Jane (not sure if it had anything to do with her laughing at me being a Jane and being a calamit sometimes)
Also watch out for Mary Poppins (A Disney-Cameron Mackintosh collaboration with extra songs being written especially) coming to West end Dec 2004.
