Well the boys in blue have just been issued with Tasers that do 50,000 volts and knock a bloke to the ground.

Tasers are illegal for everyone else though, just like firearms.

What you have to ask is how much electrickery does it take to kill or injure someone and in my view that`s `not a lot`

Like any practical joke, it can be misused. Although the amperages involved are minuscule, the voltages are in the tens of thousands to have an effect. Anything capable of making you yelp and let go is going to be fine used on your average Steve-O, but I can guarantee your elderly Auntie Doris` pacemaker won`t like it and your Dad`ll kick your ass when he gets back from casualty.
