Got this on Friday night. Was anyone else a little disappointed by the lack of BIG dramatic music and a sense of increasing momentum. Apart from the few battle shots and the s***-scary 1 second Shelob shot, I was very let down by this. Hopefully, it will be improved a little with the official high-res quicktime version on Monday.

WOW, I thought that this just looked stunning. And considering the 3rd book almost totally consists of both Shelob and the siege of Minas Tirith I don`t really know what else they could have shown?!

Having seen both the Matrix Revolutions and ROTK trailer I know exactly which film that I want to see more. Just...can`t...wait...;)

I thought Shelob was actually at the end of the 2nd book, but Peter Jackson decided to carry over Shelob into the 3rd film.

I myself am waiting for a decent look at the trailer as the one that is available at the moment is not the best quality.

Yes it was but Peter Jackson moved it to the 3rd film because SPOILER:
`The Scouring of the Shire` i.e the the 2nd half of the final book is not in the film, if you`ve read it then you will know that it is no great loss and really makes the book kind of fade out rather then with a big climactic ending.

even at this size with the quality the trailer still looks amazing to me :D

The information you mention in your spoiler is an important part of the book, and also one of my favourite chapters.

Apart from that the film has changed because of this ommition as SPOILER:
The death of Saruman the White is not until the very end of the book, and shows how the once great wizard has utterly fallen. It also shows how much the hobbits have grown.

In the film he is to die at the start of Return of the King.

The trailer is OK i guess, but I cant make out Shelob in the clip, that`s why I want to see it in higher resolution.

Yes I agree with what you are saying but the effect that this section has on the book is that of very slowly winding down. Whilst this may well suit the book I am not so sure that it would be the same on the big screen. SPOILER:
Instead, Peter Jackson has decided to end the film with the departure to Greyhaven. Not true to the book but from a cinematic sense it should be an awesome finale.

But yeah, now looking forward to a higher resolution trailer!

LOL! Yeah, I think that if that was the case then many might claim that Peter Jackson is just taking too many liberties :D
