I turned channels, picked it up and watched the last 3/4s of an hour, Doh!!
But I`d quite like to know what lead up to it...
Best version on DVD anyone? I`m already guessing what I saw was heavily cut.

There`s the R1 directors cut which is by far superior to the original release, an extra 25mins or so including various training sessions with Mathilda etc.

I`ll second that! The R1 directors cut makes an excellent film even better!
This film is excellent on so many levels... action sequences, plot, acting, direction, music... the directors cut develops the characters of Leon and Mathilda and the interaction between them much more than the butchered... erm, I mean original version.

Jean Reno`s one of my favourite actors, too. He and De Niro in Ronin were a great pairing.

The uncut version is the only version worth watching, in my opinion. The cut version is a bit rushed, and the relationship between Leon & Matilda isn`t nearly as well developed.
If you`re feeling really keen, track down the Japanese "version integrale" dvd which has an extra few minutes (generally pretty violent) which aren`t even on the R1 "Uncut" version. It`s expensive, and doesn`t even have such basics as chapter selection, but it`s the whole thing!

Leon R1 directors cut, is fantastic. I highly recomended this to everyone who hasn`t seen this. Gary Oldman steals the show just like Alan Rickman stole the show in Die Hard and Robin Hood.

If you want the basic R2 version, it`s in the HMV sale for £5.99.
