Page 1 of Ricky Gervais or Peter Kay?

Ricky Gervais has recently been hailed as the most powerful man in comedy. Do people think he is overrated?
I certainly do. Phoenix nights and Peter`s stand up stuff is far better.

Peter Kay any day - saw RG live in the summer and he was shockingly poor - a case of a comedy actor trying to be a stand up - did like the Office and his chat show on C4 though.

I much prefer Jonny Vegas and Homer Simpson

Goober, he was always a stand-up comedian before becoming an actor and writer.
anyway, i think on the whole peter kay is a far more talented comedian.

I thought Rickys rants on th 11 o`clock were inspiered.

Don`t really find Peter Kay that funny, sorry. :) Mr Gervais however can make me corpse with a mere facial expression.

I wonder if the north/south divide plays a part? I`m a northern Peter Kay fan!

Rawshark so what, RG was a crappy new romantic band member before he was in comedy, he is still not funny doing stand-up.
