Page 1 of Asylum seekers.......Do they realy get all this?

Read and heard through the media that Asylum seekers get the following.

Free driving lessons.

£2000 cash.

Fully furnished council house.

Lottery cash.

DHSS hand outs with no need to look for work.

And if it`s not true then why do they want to come over here so badly and they all seem to be young Men with no familys..

Well true or urban myth.?......I dont bloody know..do you?

IMHO, part of the attraction of coming into the UK is that once you get in then there`s no real chance of you being shipped off (deported). Even when the Home Office decides that you are not an asylum seeker then you have at your disposal at least 3 appeals (last count)...by the time you have exhausted all avenues you have spend several years in the UK and you can then stay on "compassionate grounds".

In the meantime, you get paid for everything while you are here, get a free roof over your head (which you can buy later on with funds that should be questionable), and even earn cash on the black-market. With this available to them, is there any wonder people want to come into the UK.

Apart from asylum seekers, I also have grievances on people abusing the council home schemes. I am aware of a quite a few people who have claimed a council house while they are perfectly capable of buying their own home but do so so that they can later purchase the property at a significant discount (40%???). Some of these `homeless` people are even landlords themselves having multiple homes via buy-to-let schemes.Of course my own council is not interested in this unless I have exact proof.

IMHO, get rid of the right-to-buy or not allow anyone to buy your council property until 20 years have elapsed and then you will see a marked drop in the number of asylum seekers and people who falsey claim a council home.

Anyone who agrees with you will more than likely be branded a racist.

But here are my thoughts......

The majority should not be here. Only genuine refugees who live in fear of persecution at home should be allowed in. I have no problems with that.

I do have a problem with gangs of asylum seekers roaming our streets, in Birmingham where I live, there are loads.

If they are here, then they should be in camps where they can learn English, get decent health treatment and generally we can keep an eye on them.

Anyone who can`t speak or read English can offer nothing to this country, it should be mandatory for anyone who wants to live here. How can you participate fully when you can`t communicate effectively.

We need an open and honest debate in this country about the levels of immigration without all the name-calling which inevitably happens.

What the hell as that statement got in common with Hitlers death camps, I dont think the victims of Belsen ect got any kind of heath treatment!

i was under the impression that if life is so bad in your country of birth you leave to seek polictal asylum in another country. Everyone in this world should have the right to live a decent life, but surely life in any 1 of the countries these seekers cross i.e france germany, Netherlands , belgium, luxembourg just to mention a few.. is better than the 1 they are leaving. Why dont they seek it there???? You should have the right to live a better life but not choose where that should be. (if that was the case i.ll go to OZ and spend all day on a beach) Im not a racist.. just fed up with England being sh*t on from everyone else.

I would say that 99.9% are not genuine asylum seekers. The last time I checked, France was a free and democratic country. The question should be asked, why have you not applied for asylum in France? We all know the answer - free housing, free cars, free health care, free money...the list goes on and on. It has got to the stage where they are hiring private jets to get into the country, the only people who could afford a private jet are proberly not in a legitimate line of business if you catch my drift. These people should be returned immediately from their port of departure within 24 hours of landing in the country. I don`t know about the rest of you but I am sick and tried of working all the hours that God sends just so that a bunch of chancers can rip me off. When the day comes for me to retire I don`t want to be told that after 37 years of paying tax and national insurance that the pot is empty but don`t worry it has been given away to some deservering cause! When I voiced these concerns to my MP I was accused of being a racists. They then wonder why the BMP get elected, it`s not because people support the BMP but because they want the main stream parties to sit up listen to what most people are saying regarding the asylum issue. People are happy to help genuine asylum seekers, but not these gangs of economic migrants.

Just a thought, do i have a case for asylum? The street i have lived in for 29 years is now unsafe for me to bring my children up, dirty, the council is corrupt, has lots of violent crime, and i have now been called a racist. My children are getting bad schooling because of the lack of english taught.On these grounds do i have the right to live in a better world??? If i was to turn up at sydney airport and make this point what do you think the out come would be???

You would have your case heard, asked what you could contribute to the country then sent back to your place of origin. Sounds about right to me, unfortunately the British government don`t take the same line. That`s why asylum applications have gone down 5% in Australia and gone up 45% in the UK. I would vote for Skippy the bush Kangaroo if he would sort out our asylum seekers problem.
