all these animated pop-ups are doing my head in

I`m considering not coming back here until someone stops putting all these nasty animated pop-up things on this site. They`re not just annoying, they`re REALLY annoying.

Couldn`t agree more. Especially the Buffy one which I can`t work out how to shut down and have to let it run it`s course.....AND....what narks me off more is that we are now starting to get more than one pop-up at a time. I appreciate that it`s a vehicle for generating income, but surely not at the expenses of peeing off your users. Can`t you restrict yourself to less intrusive adverts such those that appear in the banner?

Apart from the above, love the site! :-)

Me too -- I`m totally p*ssed off with them and am going to stop visiting if they continue beyond the next few weeks. After all, there are now other equally good sites that don`t have such annoying pop-ups, e.g. homecinemachoice, dvdfile, dvdtimes. etc.

Moderators it`s up to you!

I agree they are annoying but I still think this is the best dvd site on the net!

Thanks for being so understanding !

But the seriously, the pop ups are getting a bit much much now, one is annoying enough but two at the same time is too much !!

"Thanks for being so understanding !"

Sorry, it`s got nothing to do with a lack of understanding.
It`s just simple and has been debated many times here.
Simple economics I`m afraid and the money to run the site has to come from somewhere. I`m afraid it`s these big adverts that pay a much higher proportion of revenue than the other top `banner` ads.
everyone wnats something for nothing nowadays esp. where the `Net is concerned. Times are changing and it just isn`t a sustainable business model to offer free content without advertising.
Of course, as soon as the option of paying for the service is mentioned, people than think "well a few adverts is a small price to pay". Can`t get any smaller - IT`S FREE!!!
Just put up with it.

Yeah i hate these pop ups, they are annoying. Buffy From Hell X Files all good dvds but I will buy them cos i want to, not cos some blasted annoying as hell pop up appears on my screen hence spoiling my enjoyment of this site. These adverts are less likely to make customers buy the products and will probably also decrease the popularity of this site.
I have been a member on this site for a long time and I say that its going too commercial. Whats wrong with just the normal banners at the top that users can click on IF they are interested. The site used to run fine without this. I guess some people just want more money in their pocket regardless of other issues The number of users is increasing by the day which can only be good. These awful dodgy pop ups appear when they want where they want and how they want regardless of what the user desires. Whatever happend to the user being in control?
Obviously a course in usuability issues is needed here!!!
