I haerd a while ago that Paul Anderson was going to do a remake death race 2000 called death race 3000 with Tom Cruise and was wondering if it is still going ahead or if it has been forgotten about.

An embarrasment? Resident Evil was enjoyable I can`t wait for the sequel and Event Horizon was fantastic!

I didn`t think much of Event Horizon.

I thought Res Evil was trashy in a b-movie way, but I enjoyed it because of that.

I think some people misinterpret Anderson`s films as under-par simply because they`re derivative and dumbed down. In fact, he`s a very competent director with a fairly distinctive style, it`s just that the concepts and execution are intentionally trashy. What I mean is, when you watch Resident Evil, it`s screamingly obvious that the same guy directed Event Horizon aswell... If you don`t happen to like that type of over-emphasised flashy silliness, then you probably won`t like any of his films (but that doesn`t make him a bad director per se). I watched Resident Evil after being thoroughly unimpressed by the incoherent bore that is "The Time Machine". Now THAT`S bad directing! a horrible mix of tones and a bland yet choppy method of storytelling. Anderson does at least provide consistent movies (although some would say they`re consistently poor!).

Couldn`t have said it better myself.

Give Paul a break!
