Michael Caine Says we are losers & we all hate him

He is refering to Football & Tennis regarding the first part, I`d just like to say I for one do not hate him. I think he is a good actor, has made a lot of very good films & has been good for the UK. I wish him all the best for the future & may he continue keeping us all entertained.

I can agree with his sentiments, especially the latter. Why, dont we all wake up every morning and think "gosh, how I hate that Michael Caine fellow"? Personally speaking, barely a day goes by without me voicing my contempt for him.

What a sad, bitter, egoistical cretin he has become.... I did like him, but not any more!

ps, in all seriousness, in what context did he say these things and what is the exact quote? If he`s feeling a little fragile I don`t want to stick the knife in unnecessarily, or at least without the facts at my disposal.

And he thinks saying that will win friends..?

He`s been living with his head up his own ass for so long i don`t care what he thinks, he`s probably feeling hurt because someone slagged him off in the brittish press.

It`s a bit like Shawn Connery, became bitter with England, took American citizanship, another one gone. Don`t let the door hit you on the way out..

They are only actors after all, no big lose, who cares.

Exactly - they are actors, not ambassadors. I personally couldn`t really care less what they think or say.

I`d still like to see the Michael Caine quote in its proper context, though - do you have a link to a news item or similar?

Apart from the obvious films, he hasn`t exactly had a shining film career, he`s starred in more B movies than he has A movies.

Jaws the Revenge anyone?

yes..but Zulu, Alfie, Italian Job, Cider House Rules, Mona Lisa, Last Orders, Little Voice, Educating Rita, Harry Palmer films (well, some of them)....he knows his stuff....was a great masterclass on film acting he gave on TV a while ago......I wouldnt believe all quotes you read in the papers and then take it all terribly personally. I`m sure he wasn`t talking about anyone here :-).

I watched an interview with Michael caine a few months back and quite honestly couldn`t believe what he said. He said QUOTE.
"The mark of a great actor is not what he says but what he doesn`t say"
Christ almighty if thats the only criteria for being a great actor then maybe Steven Hawkings should think about a career change.:)

what an idiot.
this is clearly a self obsessed whinge to curry more favour with the americans. how and why has england ever been anything but good to him i dont know. a very average actor if you ask me. i thought the last bafta whine would have got it out of his system.
