RE: I am in pain and i`ve had a mauling on the DVD Forums, someone cheer me up :-(...
If it`s any consolation Westy, they aren`t all miserable buggers over there ;)
All the best (btw, have you considered one of these? www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/pages/moreinfoa.asp?RecordID=JAHGDC&Companyid=880
They`re supposed to be quite good, I hear (and on special offer too!).
RE: Kill Bill to be split into two movies....
Hmm, not sure I like the title of this thread really..... :/
RE: Where are the black hobbits at?
Why weren`t there any disabled hobbits?
RE: pioneer vsx-d510 problem
Isn`t it supposed to do this though? I thought that the midnight mode did this so you could listen at lower volumes without losing sound extremes. IIRC, it compresses the dynamic range of the sound you`re getting out, so in effect you`re getting less variation in sound volume. If you want to hear the standard mode a bit better, turn it up a bit maybe? I have my 510 linked to the low-end packard-bell speakers and sub that PCworld were flogging off cheap earlier in the year, and the sound I get is great at a volume level of 45. Don`t fret - listen to what sounds best for you.
RE: X-Box or PS2
"Apart from ported games all are original and totally fresh in gameplay"
Hehe, can`t you say that for any console/computer/machine that plays games? ;-P
RE: X-Box or PS2
Can open, worms everywhere.
And wrong forum btw. ;-)
RE: The all new, all singing, all dancing, ASK WESTY column!
Dude, you U-G-L-Y.
:-D
Only joking mate, this is what we wanted! Hope it goes well and all that. And thanks for availing us of your services. ;-)
RE: DVD Forums suspend their Bargain Forum
To be honest clayts, I think you guys here do a better job of moderating - you`re firm when you need to be, and you don`t take any crap, but you`re also fairly hands off. A good balance, I feel.
The problem with the cdwow thread @ the forums, is that 2 of the mods got involved, and seemed to endorse it. They certainly didn`t close it, despite being well aware of its existence (and have now been relieved of their responsibilities accordingly), which is possibly why the site`s admin has come down so hard after being made aware of the problem. It`s unfortunate that such a thing had to happen.
I think that the repercussions for Reviewer will be slight - there seem to be fewer of that sort of posting here, and the bargain forum is much quieter than over there - indeed, a lot quieter than it used to be. Is this because `dodgy` threads are getting picked upon sooner?
BTW, I read your posting in the relevant thread in their General Forum - I don`t think you`re cast in the role of `bad guy` here. Far from it! I would have said Dan B or RJS ;-D
RE: HAPPY DIWALI!
Firstly -
LOL @ Mr.Bruce!
Second -
If you look at the title of this thread from a distance, and squint a bit, it looks like HAPPY DWARF!
Well, it does to me.
:-P
RE: Any Killer PS2 Deals Out There?
I`ve seen it for sale with flesh-eating bacteria, but unfortunately no killer deals.
Sorry.
RE: Am I the only one who thinks Paul Burrell.....
He does look a bit odd, but hey, so do plenty of other people I can think of! (The entire Arsenal squad being several)
Here`s a thought - as the Crown Prosecution Service deliberately mislead the court, does that mean they now have to take themselves to court on perjury charges?
RE: General Thade, signing off...
Cheerio Gen! I shall miss sparring with you, and your run ins with Ironduke!
All the best (remeber, you`re representing Britain! - no pressure)
RE: DVD Reviewer in the Sunday Times!
You`re welcome :-)
RE: FIFA 2003...
What the hell are you doing talking about football games? GEDDOUTTAHERE!!!
;-)
DVD Reviewer in the Sunday Times!
I seem to remember a while ago that one of the staff (was it Mark?) asked us to post when we saw DVD Reviewer mentioned in the press. Well, in todays "Doors" (subsection of Sunday Times Culture), someone has written in asking if they can region-hack their dvd player, and the response points them to this here site.
Hope this helps.
RE: FIFA 2003...
Pussy.
RE: FIFA 2003...
lol @ Deano!
Can we have another flame war please guys?!!
Another Ironduke thread, turning into a classic!
Incidentally, I know the thread was started by chewie, but dukey`s had his fair share of input.

RE: X Box and Component Video. COR BLIMEY!!
Westy - if you no longer want your PS2, i`ll give you £50 for it. Waddaya reckon? Then you`ll (nearly) be able to buy Dukey`s book. Which, I have to say, sounds like an absolutely riveting read.
Let`s hope he`ll be doing book tours of the country to sign copies for us plebs. ;-)
RE: were is the cheapest place to buy an xbox
There`ll be a £160 package deal v.soon, if it`s not out already. Xbox. controller and 2 games. Possibly better value than console on its own for £130.
RE: FIFA 2003...
"And, try not to take yourself, this forum, or what is said too seriously"
Oh, sweet irony!
Anyway, thanks guys for the advice on the games. Think i`ll "try before I buy".
So who is better, Kirk or Picard? ;-)
RE: FIFA 2003...
Careful duke, he might pull your arms off.
Anyone want to answer my earlier question?
RE: My lastest 3 games are Superb!
Yeah, I had to get some new glasses too.... ;-)
Oh, and Mafia rules btw.
RE: thedvdforums.com - Whats goin` on?
Let me guess dukey - you got banned?! What for? Repeated bad language, trolling, starting flame wars? You know, all the stuff you can get away with here ;-D
Hehehe, funny stuff.
RE: thedvdforums.com - Whats goin` on?
They were s*** scared about the legal situation - before his name was in the papers that is. A bit daft, but then again, I suppose you have to cover yourself.
RE: thedvdforums.coM - Whats goin` on?
Server down? They`re based in the West Country - what`s the bet that all the high winds have knocked out the power?
RE: Amazon becoming cheaper!!
They`re usually very quick, although not always quite as quick as they say. Although that`s only to be expected given the volume of orders they must have to deal with.
Price wise, I don`t think that they are that cheap for dvds, or cds come to think of it. However, their misprices have been very very good! They are particularly good at honouring them too - eg, I got the David Attenborough 7 disc set for about 17quid, RRP 45.
But generally, other online suppliers are cheaper, IMHO.
RE: Advice, budget DVD player vs PS2
I think that the PS2 also got a rep for lunching discs. Aparently, it`s quite bad for scratching them (games too), although I believe that this is only a problem if you stand it on its end.
RE: FIFA 2003...
Is PES similar/the same as ISS Pro Evo 2 on PsOne? Or am I barking up the wrong tree here?
How does This is Football 2003 compare to PES and Fifa?
