What does the mod chip do ? Does it just allow you to play pirated games or something ? Maybe I`m getting old or something, am I the only one that thinks if a game is worth playing its worth buying ?

29 Wires
All Backups / Import Originals
Some CDR/CDRWDVDR/DVDRW (However DVD media should be used for best results)
Optional 2 Wires for Macrovision Off
Works on all models (including the different kernel versions which seems to have been overlooked by some?)
All wiring points VERY easy - no chips or components to solder to - all presoldered pads.
Modified XBE`s and Unsigned code can boot

its worth it just to be able to play import originals.p***ed off of having to wait 3 months for a game and you can get american imports a lot cheaper than british games.

I have seen the backups running on modded X-Boxes this weekend and the same claims were made....plays all Imports,CDR, CDRW,DVDR and DVDRW as well as VCD and Backup DVDS.

The chip was being sold for £60 or £120 fitted and it was the same chip that did the UK , US or Jap versions or the machine.

I am thinking of getting my US machine done this weekend but i want to hear if there is any bad feedback before i go for it.

Hmm. 15 or 20 years ago I`d definitely have agreed with you, but let`s face it, games are *FAR* too expensive these days. £30-£45 is just extracting the urine - I don`t believe that any game, no matter how good it is, is worth that much.

When I was a kid, I could afford to buy computer games on a fairly regular basis. I could buy a budget release (£2.99) with my pocket money, and full-price games (£10) with Christmas or birthday money. What option - apart from piracy - does a console-owning youngster have now?

Well, it seems mobile phone theft is one... :-(

When I was a kid (I`m 26 now), the games were about £10 a pop (for my Amstrad!), but managed to buy plenty without resorting to piracy or theft.
How about hard work? Paper round, car washing, mowing the lawn....

The future doesn`t look so bright if all our youth are scared of a bit of hard work.
