Death of the Dreamcast

Ben Franklin (Reviewer) posted this on Wednesday, 3rd April 2002, 14:49

I find it sad to see one of my favourite consoles ever, slowly fading away. How many hours did I spend playing all of those great games? The machines power completely surpassed the PSX, but still people wouldn`t buy it. The amount of outstanding games was incredibe, who can forget:-

Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
Jet Set Radio
Shenmue 1 & 2
Soul Calibur
Resident Evil : Code Veronica
Phantasy Star Online
Rayman 2
Chu Chu Rockets
Wacky Races
Powerstone 1 & 2
Outtrigger
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Ooga Booga
Floigan Bros
Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 & 2
NBA 2002
Silent Scope

Resident Evil : CV was by far the best one, and the graphic were fantastic. I will never sell my DC, as it will always remain playable, just like the SNES or Megadrive. It`s a classic, and one which many people never got to try. If you see a cheap one, buy it! The back catalogue of games is huge.

I`m now helping the memory live on by putting my DC to other uses. Playing old classics like Doom, Wolfenstein 3D and Quake on it. Hey I can even play Mp3 and VCD`s from it. Your damned PS2 can`t, can it sunshine?!

Crazy taxi?
I played that on the ps2 - it`s s***e imho. Why not buy GTA3 - it effectively has crazy taxi in it`s vigilante missions mode?

I agree, The Dreamcast was a great console and still is!

Was it marketing that let it down? Maybe!

their are loads of apps on the web to convert vcds to ps2 format to play, there is also one for mp3

you need to have you ps2 chipped to do this.

Do you mean that you can play backups on an xbox without a mod?

SEGA aer to blame for crap marketing, and not advertising it when there were all those PS2 shortages the other year. They could have shifted bucket loads then, but they had already given up I guess.

A very under rated piece of hardwear
