PS4

Not got one, and won't be getting one in foreseeable future, but wondered if anyone has/will be.

"interesting" article here:

Bricked PS4 reports are very real, no replacements available for months

I saw at Amazon, they were saying if you pre-ordered a "vanilla" system, but now wanted a Sony bundle, you'd have to cancel your order, and create a new one with the bundle, which seems fine, until you carry on to read that you then go to the back of the queue, so even if you ordered initially before August to get it launch day, you now wouldn't get it this side of Christmas!

I've gone for it, perhaps foolishly, only time will tell. Had my Amazon (*gulp*) preorder in since around July I think and am clinging to the hope that it's been manufactured elsewhere, with slightly different parts. I'm hoping for the best, but nevertheless prepared for the worst. If it fails, I'll probably just return it to Amazon as faulty, get my money back, and wait  a while. Will update next week...

good luck, I'm assuming/hoping for you, like many of these things, you only hear about the bad ones, not the good ones, let's hope the bad ones are in the minority.

it's hard to know how much you read about the story is hearsay and rumour :(

i'll be getting mine for my birthday in Feb.

hopefully by then, they should be plentiful and easy enough

To put it into perspective, Sony are saying 0.4% of units sold are showing a fault, and one possible fix is to reseat the hard drive as it may have shifted in transit. so the chance of you getting a faulty one is pretty slim.

Had mine on order since Amazon started taking orders.  What game/bundle have you ordered? I went for the Killzone game bundled with my order, had another originally but they delayed it until next year.

Gone for the killzone bundle with camera and 2 controllers. Got another of the same coming, which is going straight on eBay, hopefully will be able to offset some of the cost of the one I'm keeping. That said, eBay is flooded with them already!

Without DLNA, Sony will not be getting any of my hard earned moolah

Decided today to cancel my order. just can't see what I will do with it once I am finished with Killzone. Need to keep the PS3 for all the games I have unfinished on that, no DLNA, no other titles that jump out that I want until next year, or that aren't £10 cheaper on the PS3 anyway. Once more titles are out I will still go for one though.

PS4 looks fantastic, but I only got a PS3 this summer and I won't be upgrading for some time.

Clock some of those EA prices though! Good grief! Count me out until about 2017/18.
