PLayed this for about 90 mins today, got from a bitch of a position on level 3, right the way through to the start of level 6.....all going well I hear you say. NO! The disc comes up with a read error, and crashes my xbox.
No problemo I thought, I have earned the achievement points, surely it will auto save at that point so rebooted.
Oh no, the f***er has put me back to where I started....90 mins play down the pan. That was 90 mins ago, and if I were still playing it would be highly likely that I would be on or very near the final level now.
I WAS really getting into this game - even if the levels are a little too short for my liking but now I just want to avoid it and think about where I was rather than where I now am!

There`s really nothing worse than what you`ve described and would be more than enough to have me refusing to play it again, spitting and stomping on the disc and throwing it out the back door. Judging by the quality of most used games on eBay, I`d guess it`s something that happens a lot.
Luckily, my interest Halo doesn`t extend further than a rummage in the bargain bins to see if it`s going dirt cheap yet.
Turned on my 360 for the first time in a while last night - thing was freezing and crashing like a motherf***er. Either the recent update has dogged my console or it seems the Halo 3 strain on Xbox Live affects even those of us without the game. :/

Wouldnt be far from the truth really. I got it on weds, played for about an hour. Then about an hour yesterday, followed by a 90 min sesh today to get me to Level 6. Given that there are only 9 levels (I think) doesnt leave a lot more to play with does it.
Admittedly I am only playing it on Normal, and while certain areas are literally a walk through, others are really f***ing hard to negotiate.
You want to try Heroic instead, took me about 45 mins to do the first level last night I reckon.
I`d be gutted about losing 90mins worth of progress, though Halo autosaved when you got to every checkpoint though?
And this reminds me of a nightmare I had with the UFC game on the Dreamcast, took me ages to do the final batch of fights I needed to (had to do a championship all in a row) finally won the last fight and knocked the power switch off at the wall! Luckily it only took a couple more attempts to do it but was well p***ed off when I first did it
