Page 1 of XBOX 360: CoD4 BETA Test (Free)

This has been underway in the US for a couple of weeks now but over here you can either register at the official website and wait to see if you are a lucky chosen one or alternatively Pre-Order from Game online (as they have an exclusive deal with the makers/developers) and they will send you an exclusive XBL Beta Code for this title from 07/09/07 onwards (in batches) - It`s staggered so the developers can see the results of different loads on their servers I believe...if you don`t like it then you can always cancel your order too as no money is taken until the game itself ships...

Loved CoD3, and got the email from Game yesterday. There is still a fair bit of time to go so you can get the initial feelings on this without having to commit to anything too early on.

I will probably cancel the pre-order as soon as I have the code as I already have too many games to play and not enough time

Actually this one`s made by the same people that made CoD2 rather than CoD3, which is generally more favoured by online gamers although i did enjoy CoD3 with the introduction of vehicles...If the BETA is good then i will keep my pre-order in so it`s up to the developers now...

You can also get a Free COD4 Beta by signing up for an account with Eurogamer and following the links, I just did it and should (fingers crossed) be sent it on the 10th.

Saves you preodering with GAME as I`m sure you can probably get it cheaper elsewhere!!

Got my Activision Clearance Code from Game today and have applied for my Beta Token via the official website, fingers crossed I`m on the Monday Roll Call as it`s first come first served :D

A few people spotted me playing the COD4 beta last night so thought I would just post and "give my review"
First up, the code came from a friend who registered on the gamespot website and managed to get two codes. One of which he gave to me. I also have registered for 2 codes (one is already promised to someone) but I may have a spare going begging at some point if anyone is interested.
Onto the game. Awesome was the only word I could think of to describe it. Graphics were top drawer and thats on a standard def TV. The sound made it feel like you were involved in a battle of epic proportions and the game itself was frantic and addictive. I was only going to play it for 15mins while the Mrs was in the shower. That turned into about 1 and a half hours and a stroppy Mrs who ended up missing Hell`s Kitchen (no loss).
Three stand out moments for me.
1. cowered behind a wall to reload whilst the other side of the wall was being peppered with bullets causing rubble and dust to cloud my view.
2. a grenade going off very close but not close enough and causing my vision to go blurry and resulting in me staggering around "blind" in the middle of a big battle.
3. running around with a shotgun and getting 5 kills in a row as they all queued up to get at the idiot with a shotgun

I cant wait for the full game now! Im just a little gutted cos my Tiger Woods 2008 came yesterday and hardly played that!

I am really looking forward to getting involved with this. I loved CoD3, the only potential disappointment for me is the new setting. It made things feel a little different from the standard game at the moment to be set in WW2 rather than [almost] modern day. And before anyone points out that its called Modern Warfare, I do know, its just a shame that the original setting has been lost.

I would love to give this a try if anybody has a spare code going? ;) Might persuade me to buy yet another game. :/
