Can`t believe they`ve named it Wii (pronouced we) - you can hear the school ground slating already.
They`re taking the p***.....
But I think there`s going to be some genuinly innovative stuff unveiled in a few weeks for E3. :D
Get beyond the specs game - blu-ray, cell processor zzzzzzzzzzzzz etc. and this could hopefully offer something a bit different..

RE: Nintendo Wii (Was Revolution!)
Oh Nintendo... :(
I know Revolution was an unofficial name, but Wii? I think most were expecting Revolution to stick, although there was a rumour doing the rounds the official name may have been unveiled at E3 as the Nintendo Go!
I love E3, and checking up on all the coverage on the various sites. It`s gonna be a big year this year.
As cool as it is to slag off EA stories like this one about Revolution, sorry Wii Madden this can only be a good thing, i.e. the biggest name in video games, says they aren`t gonna do a lazy port they are going to do a custom game. There`s a few stories doing the rounds about a special Wii, and DS Tony Hawk game to.
This could be extra good for Nintendo if it means that the people who automatically buy PS and XBox, also buy Nintendo for the novelty games, I mean unique gameplay experience.
Must stop playing RE4 and dust off those bongos!

Well, if you remember correctly, the codename for the Gamecube was `Project Dolphin`, so they arent adverse to stupid names. The story on Eurogamer is pretty funny. Im (not so) proud to say I got in there with one of the first wii gags........
I dunno... a system where the games are potentially all going to be developed around a faddy control system, `Innovative` features like charging god knows how much for 10-15 year old games most people have got bored of playing on emulators anyway and a fairly well documented lack of third party support.......I dunno.....maybe its the cynic in me....a lot of people are counting all those things as huge plusses......I think I may actually be willing Nintendo to fail after the gamecube destroyed (quite violently) any lingering good will I had for nintendo.......
What im listening to (if youre interested)

fairly well documented lack of third party supportit will be interesting over the next few weeks to see just how true that is.. or is it the usual Nintendo non-disclosure agreements...??..
I think there will be lots of `normal` games too using a standard controller.

Well, apparently, Nintendos VP of America has stated that they are well aware that one of the reasons the GC was so lame was a crippling lack of third party titles (paraphrasing ;)) and that they have shipped literally thousands of dev kits to developers. But just because they have dev kits, doesnt mean anyone will dev for them. I mean, they said the same thing about the GC after the N64 was accused of the same thing.
Its strange, part of me really, really wants it to fail, but the other half wants it to kick arse because it will hit the shelves at the same price as 2 PS3 games, which is my kinda price......

RE: Nintendo Wii (Was Revolution!)
I looked at the games for the Nintendo DS, and it`s all f***ing kiddie crap, apart from the odd few Nintendo is basically aimed at the pre-school market.
After reading about Wii, I think Nintendo should rename it again and call it Shi......t
floyd
DS outsells PSP worldwide by a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge margin..........
