Reasons To Buy A Gamecube

A. Its cheap - £80 for a console, game, and memory card at Argos is ridiculously cheap for such a quality piece of kit
B. Connectivity with the GBA/GBA SP so if you`ve got one of those, you can get more out of your games
C. Brilliant, original and FUN games - Rogue Leader, Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness, Super Smash Bros, Pikmin, Super Monkey Ball 2 and Resident Evil Zero to name just a few of the GC exclusives
D. The best games to come for any console this year! (Metroid Prime, Zelda, F-Zero, Mario Kart, Soul Calibur 2 Final Fantasy:CC plus enhanced versions of Splinter Cell, Burnout 2 and Red Faction 2!
E. It`s NOT a kiddie console, like many people wrongly believe, and hosts platform to many different adult orientated games (eg.Die Hard Vendetta, R.E etc)
F. It comes with 4 control pad ports so you can have 4 player fun with your mates without having to waste money on a rip off multitap
G. You can play online NOW

Please people, buy a GC! Its the best console available and you`ll agree after playing on one. Please don`t let another excellent console (like the Dreamcast) go down the pan because people has misconceptions about how good it is! Take a risk away from your Playstation, and indulge in the best gaming experience you`ll have this year!

Anyone agree with me?

Yes definetely, if only for Rogue Leader

When played via a DLP projector on an 84" screen with surround sound, it`s awesome...

Great fun reliving the Battle of Hoth taking down those pesky AT-ATs.

Speaking of which, watched Empire Strikes Back the other day and the stop-motion animation on the AT-ATs is dodgy to say the least, the GC version is much smarter!

I would definitley buy one if I could afford it... unfortunately I can`t really justify spending another £80 on a console :-(

You lucky git!!!

I would agree though with Johnny TV, the GC is a great console, and I`m glad I bought one last year. It is more than just a kiddies console with Mario!

£80 is an absolute steal!!! I`m trying to persuade all my PS owning friends to buy one at the moment....!!

The fact is, most people don`t snub the GC because they believe it`s a console aimed at a younger audience, they snub it for the same reason they eat in McDonalds - MARKETING POWER (or on Nintendo Europe`s part, a lack thereof).

Personally I bought my PS2 to play the best sports games, which it undeniably has (PES2, NHL, NFL, NBA series, Tony Hawk, Rugby, Cricket 2002). A couple of my friends picked up PS2`s because of the realisation that many great games below the £20 mark were starting to surface (Devil May Cry, Jak And Daxter, Red Faction etc.).

Most Gamecube games are upwards of £40 when released, which is part of the reason I ( and many of my friends) won`t shell out the cash on a new console (even at the low price of £78.99).

Most Gamecube exclusive titles I`ve played have been pretty lame. I know there are exceptions, and I`m yet to play Metroid Prime or Zelda, but I just think Nintendo`s lack of marketing muscle has left the public somewhat misinformed. There`s no doubt it`s an excellent console with excellent games, but I`m afraid it contracted a severe case of Dreamcastitis early on...

Gamecube - RIP

PS - If the price drops a little more, let me know!!!

Fair point about the sports games. New cube games are usually 40 quid or less though, much like the PS2 and Xbox, and youcan get cheap cube games all over at the moment.

Which lame Gamecube exclusives have you played out of interest ? All the poor cube games I`ve played have been multiformat fayre from Acclaim and the like.
