Page 1 of Ikaruga!.....for Dreamcast.
Gaming and Consoles Forum
I have just got my mits on this stunner of a game for DC.....it may be the last game made for it.....if you have a DC you should try and pick it up as its going to be a classic.
For those who dont know, its a side scrolling or top down shoot em up a bit like Einhander for PS or Radiant Silvergun on the Saturn.
This game is easily on Par with anything i have seen on the GC or XBox(Graphics Wise)....the explosions, special effects and and 3D backgrounds are all super sharp and highly detailed with no slow down to be seen.....and this games runs a Hundred miles an hour.
This game is a pure adrenalin rush and highly addictive from start to finish and wants to be played more than once.
The game is made by Treasure JP and although they have,nt made many games, the ones they have made are all classics.
Buy it!.

RE: Ikaruga!.....for Dreamcast.
DReamcast rocks in its grave jerky!
Sony destroyed it!
hehehe
No Decent football game, this sega b*stard of Satan was destined to die:P
RE: Ikaruga!.....for Dreamcast.
I`ve alsoplayed it and it`s well smart - easily on par with anything on the PS2 and Xbox.
The DC`s technical ability was never in question, it is vastly superior to the PS1 and N64 which it was pitted against initially, but was let down to too many mediocore arcade conversions with limited appeal, and too few real killer titles.
And before anyone gets on their high horse...I`ve got a PS1, N64, DC, PS2 and Xbox (among many others), so I`m not firmly entrenched in any one camp!
RE: Ikaruga!.....for Dreamcast.
The PowerVR technology used in the DC is far more efficient then Nvidias chipsets.
I had a dreamcast, but all the games people said were great never interested me.
RE: Ikaruga!.....for Dreamcast.
wasting money sponsoring the afc scum destroyed it

Up the Gunners! heh
I think the DC did have a load of titles worth buying it for, it has the best tennis game I`ve ever played on any platform, funky dance and maracas games, loads of good fighting games, lots of arcade adventures, fishing stuff even!
It was just very badly marketed. If the only place you see pushing it is the Game Network cable channel, you know its in trouble. Judging by recent viewings of said TV station, it won`t be far behind the DC into the grave.
Still, its great being able to buy up loads of DC stuff really cheaply now, and paying way less for the addon controllers than you had to before. ;)
Oh and before I forget, Ikaruga looks very pretty indeed!

Have to agree here guys, this game is absolutely spectacular beyond all question.
Forget all that crap about, `my PS2 is better than your X-Box schoolyard pants, this game just rocks. Firstly how Treasure have managed to squeeze this out of a DC is superb, the sound effects and music are totally stunning, the gameplay,(v important!), is for those with patience as it`s a little confusing at first, and then refuses to let up even for 10 seconds.
Brilliant, and though the lure of a nice batch of GC/XBOX/PS2 titles looms, i think this will still be getting my attention well into next year.
Nice one.

PS, RJS, a friend of mine is on the scout for an import converter disc for his DC, any ideas?! Cheers!
Westy....what do you mean.....Import Convertor disc?
Is it to play Import or backup games on his DC.
