a wee but different and definitely full on
RE: [VIDEO] Death on the Nile
Really can't see the point of remaking classic and well-known mystery movies, especially when the Ustinov version is so well know there'll be no surprises. Even the BBC version a few years ago was underwhelming for the same reason.
I did catch the recent Orient Express revision with Branagh/Depp, and while is was nice to see new faces in old roles, it still was a bit of an anti-climax as anyone familiar with the story would have know who put the boot in to the bad guy.

Probably whole generations of people who they aren't familiar with the plot and who did it, and would never watch the originals because of the style and pacing.

True. Orient more than made its money back, so perhaps there's a market for remaking old classics
Unless it's Goonies or Back to the Future. Or Ghostbusters, for that matter.

I wonder whether all the kids that saw the new Robocop even knew it was a remake, and if they found out it did whether they saw the original, and if they did that what they thought of it.
And how many of them years later still don't realise it was a remake.

Only if he has a better script than they managed for Picard...
