I still can`t seem to find it anywhere.
Also, is it true they may cut the bonus 20 minutes where there was copyright issues on the original release?

`Bout time this graced my collection. And I ain`t payin £30-50 on e-bay...

Yes but they are both adverts for the original version which haven`t been taken off the site. You`ll notice the release date is T.B.A - to be announced - meaning they`re probably waiting for the re-release, but I can`t find any information on the re-release.......

I`ve got the DVD version of this with the `offending` extra stuff (copyright problems?), but I noticed on a friend`s video version, released ages ago, that there is 20 minutes of `unseen footage` on it. Is this the same 20 minutes as on the DVD? If so how come it didn`t get into trouble?
"Wots de big oidea?"!

Well I found this link http://www.alan-partridge.co.uk/index2.htm which was released when they were first being recalled but I can`t find anything since. I assume the 20 minutes on Video and DVD are the same (They`re mostly one liners and outakes - including a great series of cuts on the Chocolate scene).
OOoooooooooo Julie, you`re so diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirty!!!

I saw a repeat of the c*ckp*sspartridge episode recently on UKGold, and noticed there was canned laugther on it. I must have seen this episode half a dozen times and never noticed before. Is this something thats been added or have I just missed it ? I found it very distracting.

i fell into the same trap as you.

sadly, the canned laughter has always been there. though it is `live` laughter, but that doesn`t really make up for it

I don`t think the problem was the extra footage. Now, I haven`t seen the official reason for the recall - I`ve just heard it`s been recalled through the grapevine - but I have both the vids and the DVD to replace them.

Now, the back of the first video states something like `Some material edited due to copyright reasons`. The only one I noticed is the absence of Joni Mitchell`s `Big Yellow Taxi` at the start of Ep1. The episode opens with Partridge fading down and saying `That was Joni Mitchell, blah, blah, blah`.

Looking at the disc, the music is on it. I would therefore guess, they used the unedited, broadcast prints to make the DVD rather than the video master. Whoops!

Anyway, just my guess, and the evidence seems to support it, but I no more than any of you so I may be wrong!
