Page 1 of Watchable chick-flicks
DVDs & Films Forum
Any ideas on any chick-flicks to watch with the Mrs, that I might have a hope of enjoying too?
I`ve never minded sitting through "Notting Hill", "Groundhog Day" or "When Harry Met Sally", which have enough clever dialogue to keep me entertained, but please don`t suggest "Moulin Rouge" or any other musical, or indeed anything that is going to insult my (alleged) intelligence. ;)
I would rather throw a brick through my nice Samsung LCD! (last sentence not to be taken literally!)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

She dragged me to the cinema for that and I though it was OK

Trying to think of what I have that may be deemed "Chick Flick"
At the risk of ridicule
Coyote Ugly
Save the last dance
What Women Want
Of the three the last one reduces the risk of being accused of picking the film for the "hot girl/s playing the leading roles"

I`ve seen "What Women Want" and it`s perfectly watchable. ;)

LOL. Indeed
Is "The Girl Next Door" a chick flick. (although cursed with the same issue as CU and STLD in my opinion)
I bought The Break Up for the girlfriend ages ago (Vince Vaughan and Jennifer Aniston) but i`ve never seen it. Wonder if I should risk that one myself
Dunno if this site might help

The Break Up was quite a good film until an ending I hated.

Try something old... with Cary Grant in probably. Something like Charade.

From my knees...
I was perplexed by the title of this thread. I might be female but I can`t abide "chick-flicks" - most make me want to vomit, especially anything with Hugh Grant in it.
Anyway, I`d add my vote for "What Women Want" as that`s quite funny.
Failing that, if you can handle 2 hours or so of Tom Hanks talking to a ball, maybe "Castaway" as it has enough romance for her and enough effects to keep you awake. ;)
