Looks amazing, I can`t wait to see it! As a huge fan of the book I`ve been looking forward to this for years now, and it looks like PJ has nailed it... it looks and sounds much like how I imagined.

Not familiar with the material, but it looks incredible and the story is right up my street (and annie`s). Looking forward to it immensly
Plus, is anyone else of the impression that if PJ turned sideways, he`d disappear?

RE: Peter Jackson`s Lovely Bones - sneak peek
Don`t you just love Oscar season ;)
Just finished watching The Lovely Bones and have to say that Peter Jackson is the master of adapting complex source material. I was surprised by just how much of the book they managed to squeeze in, and although some material has been left out, it doesn`t affect the beauty of the story one bit.
It`s a visually stunning film with a great soundtrack and score by Brian Eno. The heaven/purgatory scenes are mesmerising - they are somewhat more flamboyant than in the book, and are quite reminiscent of What Dreams May Come in places, but they are not just cheap CG effects to keep the mouthbreathers interested. Every scene has a purpose and as a whole it is remarkably coherent considering how difficult that aspect of the story could have been to integrate.
The acting is great all around, especially Rachel Weisz. Also, Susan Sarandon is perfect casting and Saoirse Ronan adds another great performance to her burgeoning career. Even Mark Wahlberg manages to be not totally s***, which is a bonus :)
I would love to see an extended cut of the film, especially if it contains more scenes of Ruth and Ray, who seemed to disappear in the middle of the film. In fact, the only real complaint that I had was that more should have been made of the connection between Susie and Ruth.
I will definitely be seeing it again in the cinema at the end of the month!

I also saw a sneak peek of this, and I have to disagree with everything Gareth has said.
I thought it was some of the most boring, self indulgent tripe I have ever seen. The story didnt flow very well (admittedly I only got about 1/3 of the way through the book before it sent me to sleep) but she was alive for too long and the whole revelation of who the killer was made no sense (perhaps my fault from the book perhaps).
I couldnt wait for this to end, and i did have high hopes for it.
