A question about ` Flipper` disks

petetiley (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 29th August 2001, 16:16

I have just bought trainspotting for a tenner and I note that it has both the 4:3 and 16:9 version on each side. I want to watch the 16:9 version. Can anyone tell me as I have never encountered a dual disk, does the 16:9 label face up or down.

Stupid question to some but I have never purchased a film with this option before now.

thanks,

Pete.

I`ve got a couple of flipper discs and what you do is read the writing on the center circle and have the side you want to play facing up. hope we`re on the same wavelength.

Pete, OBzilla! is right,
I`ve got a few of these myself, and was caught out the first time too!

simple rule. "Put down" the label, for the version, you do NOT want to watch.

I`m sure if most people were being honest, they`d admit to it too.

Yup, me too.... I guess if you think about it, when it`s a single side disc, you put the label up and the shiny side down - it`s just that in this case the label`s a tiny circle in the centre...

Yea, R1, Terminator 2:Ultimate Edition also has this option and can be confusing at first. Just follow what it says on the inner circle, just make sure its placed the right way up.
