Page 1 of Star Wars Episode 1

I wanna order my star wars disk from play247 but don`t know which one to get R1 or R2, the both cost the same and are release about the same time......any advice

My advice would be to get neither, it`s a s***e film no matter what region you come from - invest in Die Hard or Superman:The Movie before spending cash on CGI cack like this.... of course it`s just a suggestion.

I would get the region 2 version (thats what i have done). It comes out a day earlier and its pal, not ntsc (which is the better one)

The region 1 disc is cheaper! Only a quid but still!

As for R1 or R2, if you have a progressive scan DVD player and display device then get the R1, otherwise get the R2. :)

Oh and if you have to ask if you *do* have a progressive scan DVD player you don`t have one.

I have a Scan - Is it "Progressive?"
I can`t have one, can I? (I haven`t upgraded firmware as I have had no problems). I think I have Ver 1.8?

Progressive scan are only found in high end DVD players like the ones from Denon and Pioneer, and they reatil at around £700 at least. And they also have composite video which is the best you can get. Even better then RGB, but you`ll need a projector, a normal TV won`t do (even wide screen) .

PAL may be better than NTSC, marginaly, but when I`ve pre-ordered for £16 and coppers, while R2 has been quoted at £24.99 I`m not too bothered about a few lines of resolution.

Think again,

All new Toshiba widescreen sets now have the provision for component video inputs from a compatible dvd player.Quite excellent it is too,with cinematic images that defie belief!(i still cant get over how good the picture from Toy Story 2 is!)
