Anyone else stopped going to the cinema recently due the behaviour of other people kids / chavs in the audience ?
I`ve not been for a while - certainly not at a peak time, but went this weekend to Trafford UCI to watch Howls Moving Castle and surprise surprise half way through the film a group of lads ran in and started to mess about. Someone told them to shut up but this made them worse. I went out to complain - missing part of the film - and it took the ushers nearly 15 mins to get rid of these idiots ruining the film for all. I did manage to get my money back however but even that took some doing as they tried to offer me a re-admit ticket.
This has happened a few times now and I think im gona just stop going and wait for the dvd. Once your are in the screen they cinemas dont seem to care cause they`ve got your money. Im now starting to wonder if UCI stands for "Usually Chavs Inside".
Never go anymore due to the curse of marriage - children
That sounded awful. I love it, really.

On the IMDb news today there was a story about Jodie Foster complaining that a woman in front of her at the cinema asked her to keep her son quiet and they got into a confrontation. Wow what an unreasonable bitch expecting someone to control their child and to be allowed to watch a film in peace... :¦

I stopped going three years ago because of the stench of junk food, and the noise of pigs shovelling it down.
I only go when I really want to see the movie/can`t wait until the dvd - it`s just so much bother (the nearest decent cinema is about an hour away) and then there are usually idiots in the audience who spoil it or eat all the way through (anything in a packet should be BANNED!).
I`ve been about 4 times this year - and I`ll probably go and see "Chronicles Of Narnia", but that`s about it....
"I like you. When the world is mine, your death will be quick and painless..."
I stopped going to the cinema until the VUE cinema in Edinburgh had Gold Class seats.
Its over 18s and you get waiter service. We always get a big ice bucket of stella and our nachos served on a plate, not to mention the really comfy seats you get and loads of legroom.
I`am sure its only a couple of quid more than the ordinary cinema but I would quite happily pay more.
Best cinema ever and no coagy scum
Only go these days if I absolutely have to.
Not just because of the chavs who atttend, but also the ones who man the projection booth / box office / "refreshment" stall (will that be endowment or repayment "sir"?) etc.
Going to the cinema is just a kick in the gonads these days. At least in the seventies they had the excuse of it being the seventies.
There was a guy (surprisingly an American talking sense - who`d have thought?) on Film n (where n > 72) last night putting the poor summer box office down to this very thing.
Apparently we`ve all got better kit at home. Well, yes, it`s not difficult.

Never had much bother at the cinema (UGC Edinburgh). Worst has been kids that talked, then told them to STFU and they did.
And I go about 3-5 times a week at the moment.
