Star Wars viewing

My girlfriend asked me if we were going to have to watch all the Star wars films this weekend before the cinema next week, which is I thought was`nt a bad idea.

Are you supposed to watch episodes 456 then 123 or 12 go to the cinema for 3 then 456 next weekend

I know the purists would say watch it the way it was made, but if you were going to watch having never seen it before do you not think it would be better watching it 1-6.

I did that with my GF the other week. We watched them 4, 5, 6, 1, 2.

But I think when the dust settles the correct order will be 3, 4, 5, 6.

You could maybe squeeze the Clone wars cartoons in before 3.

I`ve got a free ticket to the all day marathon in Leicester square on monday...
they are showing the films in this order, 4,5,6, 1,2, 3. which makes sense it terms of the premier happening (we`ll see it at the same time) but makes no sense continuity wise.
given the choice i would watch them in chronological order...

After Episode 3 is out - 1,2,3,4,5,6.

But at the moment I would watch them 4,5,6,1,2. And yes, slip in Clone Wars if you can :D

I`d still watch them in the order they were made, unless you want the films to get progressively better ;) The prequels don`t fit in well with the cannon of the original films; I just treat them as a nice back story rather than one whole saga. Sith may change that, but I doubt it. I enjoy the prequels, but the original films re just so much better (even in their current bastardised form). Still, at the end of the day it`s your choice...

I reckon the best order to watch them if you`re with someone who hasn`t already seen them is 4,5,6,1,2,clone wars, 3, that way the big twist at the end of Empire still has impact. But each to their own I guess.

my mate mentioned this the other week, so we decided to see ep 1 and 2 on dvd before thursday, then we are going to see ep 3 on thursday night, then watch the original trilogy on dvd in the days after. see how it all fits in, i suppose that depends on how good ep 3 is, it needs to be really good to bring the two trilogies close together

Seems daft to do it any other way really?

I gonna kill that firefox spellchecker, and enjoy doing it.
