I have to say that I was skipping through my Region 2 version the other day and the cast commentary seemed to stutter a bit on my Denon deck. It may have been due to me skipping around between the different soundtracks and causing it a bit of a grief trying to catch up but it was a tad annoying. I`ll have to try it again but playing it from the beginning.

ta very much for the reply :)

it plays mostly ok on the pacific, but on the other 2 machines it judders skips & even crashes :( it`s noticable streight away. as i say the panny seems to play it ok (tho tbh i`ve not had the chance to watch it properly yet)

Ive not had chance to watch the film disks as yet, but I watched the first extras disk today and it froze and stuttered in a couple of places...nothing too bad but enough to notice...

well I`m still using my trusty old Scan 2000 and I didn`t notice anything untoward in that film.

Tried my region 2 version today and it froze 2minutes 51 secs into the 1st chapter where Smeagol is choking the other chap to death. Picture first stuttered, and then it just froze. Locked the player out and i had to swith off completely to get it to work again. :(
My player is a top of the range SONY, so its not like it`s a cheapo machine.
I think i will send my copy back and purchase the Region 1 version.

I watch this on a Tevion DVD recorder and about half way throught the second disc the subtitles switch themselves on for the rest of the film.
