Help! do I pay in Canadian or US dollars?

bigboy (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 26th March 2001, 19:31

O.K., so I`m eventually taking the plunge and buying 2 discs online-from DVD box office, `Gone in 60 secs` and `The 6th Day`

Thing is, I`m not sure whether to pay in canadian or US dollars? Am I right in saying canadian dollars works out cheaper? It seems to, unless I converted the currency wrong!

Perhaps anyone who has used DVD box office can advise me?

Cheers

Bigboyxxx

Bigboy, I use DVD boxoffice & DV-Depot all the time and I always choose to be billed in Canadian dollars.

The only thing with DVD Boxoffice is, that the titles can take between 9 - 13 days to arrive & only 2 - 4 days with DV-Depot (with their DHL option)

You pays your money....

If you don`t mind waiting, go for DVD Boxoffice if not, go for DV-Depot.

Hope this helps, Longsightboy

Many thanks, Longsightboy

I shall `ave a butchers at DV-Depot before deciding - time isn`t too important but if it`s only a couple of quid, it could prove useful.

First time I`ve heard of these bods on this site - good are they?

Canadian is definitely cheaper than US dollars, but be careful!!

If you order BOTH titles at the same time, you`ll be over the £18 customs limit and if they catch the parcel, you`ll have to pay 3% on top of the discs price for duty, then 17.5% on the new total for VAT!

Order individually...it takes a while to get `em, but sure saves a bit in the wallet! :o)

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!

If you want to pay in australian bucks you can get Gone in 60 Seconds for about £14 inc shipping from ezydvd.com.au and it comes in about 5 days.
I have used them a few times with no problems.

My last 2 disks from DVDBO took only 6 & 8 days respectively.

also BigBoy if your DVD`s are pretty close to 18 quid I would get from Jersey based www.play247.com

DVDDepot have been spanked by customs on lots of occasions.
