It looks like Brosnan has really gone - Farrell lined up!
From AOL News:
Quote:
Pierce Brosnan has told fellow Irishman Colin Farrell to Try Another Day if he wants to be the next James Bond
Bond producers are said to be looking for a new leading man and Farrell, X-Men superhero Hugh Jackman, Lord of the Rings Star Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor have all been tipped for the part.
But Brosnan, 50, who played Bond in the last four films, told ITV1`s This Morning that Farrell was not right for the part of 007.
The show`s LA correspondent, Vickie Stokes, asked him: "What about Colin Farrell for 007?"
Brosnan replied: "Colin. No! I think he`s a great actor but I don`t think he`s right for Bond.
"Some of the names that will be top of my list are Clive Owen, who`s a fine actor, and Hugh Jackman, who is also a very fine actor," he said.
He added: "I was trained and led to believe that I could do anything and I`ve been pigeon holed.
"It`s time in my life to step outside the box."

so in fact, Farrell isn`t lined up at all? and it also looks like Brosnan hasn`t gone either, pretty inaccurate heading there Rik - It`s just an example of quotes taken out of context after Pierce`s recent comments about who should take over after he finishes filming his last Bond
Quick edit - just realised there`s a line in that that sounds a little antagonistic. "pretty inaccurate heading there Rik". Just to clafiry, I meant that the quote you posted seemed to have very little resemblance to the heading you gave it..
there, i feel better now..

Not really, that post suggests Brosnan has gone and won`t come back for Bond 21, and Farrell has techically been lined up since they were discussing him.

yes, but they were also discussing Clive Owen, and he was just on Johnathan Ross saying he hasn`t even been asked.
I always have a rule of thumb about casting rumours, until it`s confirmed by either the actor of the studio, that`s all it is, a rumour, but that`s just me.
Plus, Farrell`s eyebrows are too close together...
But that comment about him feeling pigeon-holed doesn`t sound right, Pierce had done loads of films before he landed the Bond role, and I for one have always thought of him as a very versatile actor, and not a one trick pony

Farrell has techically been lined up since they were discussing him. They were discussing Farrell because he has been rumoured to be someone who could be the next Bond, but I think that`s due to him being a good actor rather than a serious contender. Also, don`t forget it was some bint on This Morning asking questions which were probably compiled by an eejit in the office scouring the Internet for questions.
In other words technically he probably hasn`t been lined up at all. ;)

Aha..the in depth probing questions by the hosts of this morning....that woman off ready steady cook and a bloke who used to share a broom cupboard with a gopher...
oh and I thought Robbie Williams was `lined up` also :p

Having seen the interview on ITV what happened was this- Brosnan was asked who he thought should be the next Bond (when he steps down after at least Bond 21) and he said Owen and Jackman are good choices. He then turned the question back on the interviewer and asked who she thought and she said Farrell :o (so thank god she`s not going to pick the next Bond :p) and Brosnan said good actor but not right for Bond.
My choice would be Jackman but the way his career is going he may be to big a star for Bond.

Jackman? Remember what happened the last time an Aussie played Bond?

It would be nice if we had some villans from different countries, instead of the usual british baddie, after all we did support the iraq/afgani war, or is that all in the past now?

possibly, but at the same time, don`t you think that the whole iraq thing would be tempting for a bond writer though? (either that or call clooney, 3 kings part 2!!!!!!!) :D :D :D
