Hi, does any know what the DVD picture quality of `The Eye` is like?
What about the sound, extras etc?
I know Tartan do not have a good reputation for producing quality DVDs.

They certainly release discs of variable quality. Their recent edition of Bride of Re-Animator is one of the worst DVDs that I`ve ever seen, with its sub-VHS quality picture and sound.
Some credit should be given for finally getting it right on their fourth release of Battle Royale, of course.
I`d recommend ordering the R3 release (at half the price) from www.dddhouse.com.

Moviethyme have their own Region 3 dvds including The Eye
This is a great database for dvd reviews. I use it a lot. It collects links for all regions.
It`s got The Eye featured under region 2, only two reviews though.
Hope it`s of some use.

I got The Eye & Dark Water delivered from DDDHouse for a total of £13.23. Out of the two I much preferred Dark Water, I think that it has the better story and more of an atmosphere...in my opinion it`s the stronger of the two.

HOw does it compare to The Ring?
Is it as spooky cos the ghost is like the one in The Ring?
ALso whats The Eye like? I fancy that, and think I might get it with Dark Water and The Spiral
Can`t wait for this week tho, cos ICHI THE KILLER comes out this week on a special edition region 2!!! Get it cos they said its very limited, I`ve ordered mine from Moviethyme.

I thought The Eye`s first hour was much better then the last 30 mins, but in my opinion it`s still one of the best spookies of recent years, and well worth it.

I got the R0 release back in October from HKFLIX. I think the ending is very strong, so I partially disagree with the other comment. The bit where they go to Thailand, it goes go off the boil slightly then though
