I do not think their are any problems with software not playing on
the 750S. its only a 750 problem.

So far I have discovered two discs that appear incompatible-

Shaolin Wheel Of Life (R2) - Cannot access special features.
2000 A.D. (R0) - One of the special features is corrupted with coloured blocks.

Both discs work fine on other machines.

By the way - I was very disappointed to see that the layer change is noticeable! I was watching `Wild Wild West` (I borrowed it - honestly!) and it paused for about 1 second for the change. I hope all discs don`t suffer from this.

I have now had my 750s for 3 weeks and I`m happyish, but not Shiny happy with it. I`m keeping that reciept safe that`s for sure. I`ll be taking the offending discs around to my sister who also has a 750s to see if it happens on hers too.

Neil.

Hi Neil.

I seem to have the same problems as you.

I also have a Wharefedale 750S that I`ve now make Region free. I borrowed an American "Wild Wild West" DVD from a friend to test that the hack had worked. The disk played, but it seems to "judder" when played. Also his American "Austin Powers The Spy Who shagged me" DVD "judders" too. No Region 1 DVD`s judder, but I haven`t tried any other American ones (as I haven`t got any more). I hope they`re not all like it, because I`d rather not bother watching them.

And, I was given Shaolin Wheel of life" for Christmas, and can only play the movie. I cannot get to the extras. I tried playing it on my PC DVD (a Samsung SD608 & it all works fine). I called the Tesco Helpline, and they were unable to help. They said that I should take the DVD disk back, because they didn`t think there was a problem with the player.

So, I cannot help really, but I too would love to know the answers to these issues.

Someone please help us!!

I have a copy of American Beauty (Region 1 DD/DTS) which plays perfectly on my Sony 715. It locks at the initial DD/DTS selection screen both on a 750s (Version 2) and Lecson 900 (same inardsas 750s version 1)

To stop Judder for region 1 disks you need to make sure the player is set to AUTO.

Dear Orac,

I think you`re on to something there, as when I select Auto on the DVD player, the juddering does seem to stop, but I then get 3 versions of the film on the TV, all flickering in a different way. Which is actually a lot worse to look at.

I think my TV can`t cope with it, whereas most TV`s can. Maybe I`ll change my TV.

Thanks.

Jon.

Yep, I put the DVD player into AUTO mode, then plugged it into my girlfriend`s TV, and it worked fine.

So basically, my TV can`t cope with PAL60.

Thanks all.

Jon.

Without wanting to move you away from this great website, dvdtimes http://www.dvdtimes.org.uk have a bug feature which allows people to add bugs etc for their player. There is a reasonably sized section dedicated to the 750s.
